NW Member Introduction Thread

1: Vong
2: 2006 Mazdaspeed6 GT #3337
3: No Mods really (still some good warranty left on it). VG Shark Fin, Ipod thingy, new tires. I am waiting on some JDM M'z Tune bumper flares (my buddy's dad works for Mazda in Japan).
4: I'm just into cruising. Love to drive, Love my car. Not sure what else I may be getting into.
5: I've got tools. I like to use them. I can usually get things apart. 90% of the time, I can get it back together.
6: I'll drive a couple hundred miles North or South from Portland. It's always fun to get out of town.

1.) Bradley
2.) 1992 Mx-5
3.) KYB AGX, H&R racing springs, Racing Beat Intake, Racing Beat Header, High Flow Cat Coverter, Borla Cat Back, Hard Dog Roll Bar
4.) Autox and drifting. More than anything is just cruising around on the road.
5.) Most everything except major electrical and internal engine work.
6.) I live in Redmond, and go to school in Bellingham. I will drive a hundred miles or so

previous fun cars: 1978 Trans Am 400 ws6, 1993 Nissan 300zx n/a.

1: Kevin Loper
2: 2008 Mazda 3 Sport (Previously owned 323 and Protege.)
3: None. Looking to see what people have done that I would like.
4. Meets. Enough car to get into trouble, not enough car to get stupid fun. ;)
5. Can do all the usual maintenance. Not a auto mechanic though.
6. Prefer Puget Sound area for meets. Will hit Portland if opportunity arises.

As a side note. I didn't understand car enthusiasts until I picked up the Mazda 3. Haven't had this much fun just driving.

Hey welcome guys, i wish this section was more alive...I know we got of NW mazda drivers out there

hey but you gotta admit man its been more alive lately than it was a few months ago when there was like 3 people posting in here.

Most of the action for the Northwest happens on the *other* forum. We have a couple members that hang around on both forums though to make sure we get the word out about bigger meets and whatnot. Link below to where we do most of our posting.

1: Uze
2: '08.5 MGM MS3 GT
3: None, yet. Bit of a chicken about warranty voiding + not overly mechanical, so it may be a while. :(
4: autocross
5: Not much experience working on newer cars. I follow instructions well, and want to learn though. Good with web dev help or questions though (C# & Perl mostly).
6: Depends on what's up, considering several Portland auto-x events. Willing to drive much farther for a race/drive/learn mod stuff type events than meet/greet/eat/photo type events.

Welcome bro! brand spankin new MS3 too, nice..are you a previous mazda owner?

Thanks! Nope, never owned Mazda's before. S2000 prior to the MS3. Really digging the torque & turbo, not yet digging the shifting. Still seems strange to be shifting around 5,500 when getting on it. Loving the fact that I can hear the stereo without it blaring over all the road noise.

4: I like the twisty turns...
5: I've done all of my own mods. I just haven't getten into the engine yet... that scares me... cuz I might mess up my DD.
6: Well, I'd have to be for more than just a meet, but Olympia/Tacoma/Seattle is cool... though I love the twisties around the greater Portland area... the Gorge...

the best drive ever was HWY 101 in CA at night last summer in the MSP I used to own. The corners were relentless and so was my driving.

Just got this car as my new DD last week:

1. Name: Patrick
2. Car: 2002 Protege DX
3. Mods: Pretty much stock - just slapped the stock wheels (R85) from a Mini Cooper S and they look cool (and most of all, I got it for free!)
4. What into: Autocross, driving just for the heck of it, shows
5. I do the usual stuff (brakes, oil, minor electrical stuff), but nothing major.
6. How far for meets: I guess I'd drive around 50-100 miles for meets.

You've seen me around here, guess its time to introduce myself

Lets all get to know one another better by answering a few questions:
1: Bobby
2: 2002 Protege LX
3: Mazdaspeed Protege Trim
Tinted Windows
MSP Spoiler to come
MSP foglights to come
MSP Exhaust to come
Stereo equipment to come
Rims to come
4: AutoX, Show
5: I installed the MSP trim... could probably change oil... not much under the hood skills, just cosmetic, stereo stuff, interior
6: Not very far. Maple Valley to Renton, Kent, Covington. probably not much furthur. depends on my schedule and meet size.

1. Mike N.
2. 1988 Mazda 323 GT x2 (One white, One grey) 2003 P5 (my wife's daily)

5. I am a Tech. at Speedware Motorsports in Redmond, WA so I can turn a wrench pretty well and know my way inside and out of quite a lot of vehicles. Always down the help with tech. stuff when I can find a minute of free time. Just can't give away too much for free (wink) :D
6. I am willing to drive a good ways around the Northwest esp. if the road on the way is twisty.(drive2) Been a mazda/car guy for ever and usually down for any meets/drives mazda or otherwise.
