Just the fact that Luke called it an "obscure" reference made me think I was getting old again! I saw that movie sooo many times in High School, and the "prepare to die" quote was thrown around quite a bit among my friends!

The little spaceship on Buck Rogers was funny - on a string with sparkler bits coming out the back of the ship while it was flying along.
