does anyone else think the shifting is notchy? i dont remember if it was like this before my inserts or not. but i wanted to know if everyones shifting was notchy.

Well the stock bushings cause the shifting to be notchy at times, this is common. Get the TWM bushings, they're only like $39bucks and they help a great deal. I have the TWM SS & Bushings and my shifting has drastically improved.

do the bushings actually do anything?..seem like a reason to just throw away money to me. but i really have no idea

They actually help a lot believe it or not. I'm sure there are many other members that can contest to this. Quite possible one of the best mods you can get for this car and the nice thing is they aren't expensive.

here's what I did and am happy w/ the shifter now

Corksport inserts (I have the TRZ poly now, just put it in today)
TWM base bushings
Removed the shifter 'counter weight' (i love this 'mod')
Redline Mt90 fluid

im not sure about the removing weight thing, and i really know nothing about it but i heard of it. but it looks like i need these bushings now.

also would this shift knob help? its 600 grams but idk how heavy the stock one is

OT this is the first ive seen of the removal of the counter weight. how is this helping the feel? i asume were talking about counter weight over the tranny?

I've just went back and forth a couple times with the weight on and off..I definitely like it off more. I guess it's more of a personal preference thing.

The stock nob is actually pretty heavy. I don't know the exact weight but I don't think you'd find that nob to improve the feel much. Just go with the bushings.

When I replaced my tranny fluid to MT-90...it really smoothed out the tranny. Still had notchy shifting into 3rd gear though at WOT...tranny mount solved that issue.

im trying to figure out if my cs inserts caused more notchyness. I just can't remember what the car was like before them cause i pretty much got the right away. I guess im spending 39 bucks latter tonight for bushings though. And can anyone weigh the stock knob?

Ok just weighed the stocker it is 266 grams, so I guess not as heavy as I thought. Is that other knob really 600 grams? Thats almost a pound and a half!

Mine seems to have become more notchy over the winter - I had it garaged for most of last winter. MT-90 looks like something I should do. It seems especially noticeable during downshifts, and yes going to 3rd and pushing it. Still sometimes I hit the shift gate and then get it into 3rd; that's annoying, but I'm not complaining. I could always get better at driving..
