i have two really annoying clickity clack noises coming from the center or a little left of center and the glove box area of the dash board. i have read about cowl creak and have foamed the cowl up and it didn't seem to do anything. has anyone had any similiar problems? i am probably going to try to just take the windshield cowl off and go for a test drive to just totally make sure thats not it. advice?

my dash makes noises and so far it has been the plastic on the steering colum that rattles for me. I haven't been able to figure out where the others come from just yet. Then again I have solid motor mounts so I will have rattles no matter what for the most part.

same here. I have 88 durometer poly motor mounts from AWR and my car has rattle since they were installed 60000 miles ago. on rare occasion ill have noise the from the center colsole around the shifter but more often than so my shift knob is just loose. good luck

good luck is right. if it isn't the windshield cowl than the only way i could remedy the problem is by taking the dash apart...that is gonna suck. anyone else have any insight on the issue?

and 9 times out of 10 you will fix a 2 or 3 rattle spots and gain a few dozen more....(boom03)

Dash fix

I had a similiar issue and placed 1 small, spongy, washer (black--you could not find it if you tried) just above the radio in my 2001 Protege--about 1/2 inch back between two panels. My advice, if you can find a similiar solution without taking things apart--try it first.

i have an aftermarket radio but the two panels you speak of may not have been removed in the installation. i will definitly take my radio out and check it out and maybe it will provide some relief from just one of the many rattles.
