whats up guys,

I have a question regarding my ABS breaks. I want to pull the fuse to disable them but I need to know two things.

1- will I be putting other essential systems at risck by pulling the ABS fuse.

and

2- what wire do I cut to disable the ABS lite on my dash.

The light will drive me bonkers, and is the only real reason I havent pulled the fuse yet.

any help would be greatly appreciated as I hate ABS systems. I think they can be dangerous. also if there is another way of disabling the abs system, let me know.

thanks

Not sure how it works in the protege, but when I had my RX-7, this is what I did. I pulled the ABS modulator box from under the hood and connected the brake lines with a small piece of brake line with fittings on each end. This took a lot of weight off the car. Next, I bled the brakes to get the excess air out of the lines. Then I pulled the ABS fuse and removed the idiot light from the dash. Hope this helps a little.

Give it sometime, the boards move little fast during the day.

But I do know people that remove fuses in other cars during track day. Not sure about the long term disabling of it.

Agree though on ABS I hate it, and glad I don't have it.

I'm interested in this to.. what I want is an on off switch. Track
day turn off. Normal drive turn on.. Plus I think if you pull out the
fuse wont it put some type of code. So when you take your car
in for service, the techs will ask you about it... Or something to
the effect they will ask if you had problems with it.
