It is a great position, near stearing wheel........if you put armrest, it will be great....

Yes, coming from 2 Mazda5s with MT, the first time I saw the shift knob position I thought it was very awkward, but after test driving the first mile I was sold, very ergonomic and comfortable for quick shifting

And yeah, an armrest would be a big plus (also for the copilot)
