nopi curse?!?!

I don't wanna hear about your Nopi curse. ;) In the 4 years I have gone the first year we lost our money gambling to carnies in a gas station parking lot. (way to long to explain even in person) Had to drive back down to Atlanta 2 weeks later, (from Pa) but we got our money back.

Second year we registerd as a group with my friends honda club from NJ. The "Leader" apparently never sent mine and my friends registration in so we lost our money and he never showed up. On the way home I blew my mass air flow sensor and had to stay in SC for 2 days waiting for the part to come in. It cost me $450.

Third year got lucky nothing major happened and I took 3rd in my class :D

This year on the way to Baltimore I was following my friend and there was another one of my friends behind me. We were following closely and I started to knod from being tired. The one in front swerved from truckers retread in the road, I ran over it (no damage) then my friend behind me hit it screwing up his freshly painted front end. Then once we hit Atlanta's main highway I hit one of those heavy ass steel wire hubcaps. Lost my front plate and messed up my paint. I was lucky it didn't hit my windsheild.

Sorry for the length, but you sound like you've had it easyer then me. lol

P.S. my motor had to be replaced too, but mine was under warrenty.

The quality of the oil can make a big difference and cause a lot valve noise. Fram filters have been shown to be pretty bad, too.

I agree...i personally use mobil 1 5w30 and STP filters

so being that they are blaming it on the oil and filter, this is off topic-sorry, im slightly past due for an oil change and have one tomorrow. what would you guys recommend(brand+weight)? i have a slight tapping coming from my motor at idle since the day i got it. i figured it was normal but it has always bothered me. i could really use some input on the oil thing, dont wanna **** that up too. thanks alot guys

hrm... 4,755.95 for a new motor and i have it easier than you? haha i'd gladly take a hubcap to the front or get in a minor fender bender any day at least ur car still runs....

what if you just get a used fs-de and swap it in yourself for like 600 bux. . . .and you dont' have a warrantee anyway

and then get like a beater to drive around for a couple hundred and you should be cool

Yeah buy a beater than runs good and looks like ass.
Then get some good internals.
Allowing for the fact you have the time, the room, and the ability to remove the motor, rebuild the motor and then reinstall the motor.

The ticking noise that most of you hear is the tumble control on the engine. Its normal, and yes there is a TSB out on it.

do you have any more info on that tsb? i would like to get it checked out but i wanna know what im asking for before i go in to the dealership. ya know, just in case i have to school them something they should know about? thanks man!!

umm...I don't get it. Maybe you didn't read my post verry well. That stuff was just for Nopi. I have already wasted about 5 months of my life bullshitting with subaru before they finally caved in and gave me a new motor! :( oh well. And I forgot while it was getting replaced someone broke into my car and stole all my cd's and the glass chipped up all my paint on the door. Trust me on this those are just the beginning of all the bad luck I've had with my car.

I'm glad I didn't go to NOPI then...lol
