Noob question about ECU Flash

I have read a bit about the flash and I am trying to determine if my ECU has been flashed or not. I know that there is a sticker on the passenger strut tower that says if the dealer has flashed it, but I also read that all cars being sold now are being flashed. My car does not have the sticker on the strut tower but I just bought it this weekend 12/20/2003. I have not noticed any hesitation at any RPM range and infact have been very happy with my midrange power, but this may be because I'm coming from a Neon whose mods made the power on it rather peaky and not smooth. Is there a way apart from the sticker that lets me know if it is flashed or is the fact that the sticker is not there a definitive answer that it is using the original programming.

Sorry I dont have th answer to your question but Im in the market for a speed and was wondering how much you got yours for out the door and with what rebates?
Thanks for any info Brian

Out the door I can't really say cause I was upside down on my old car so it won't be a useful figure. Basically I got him down to 19,200. The rebate is $2,500 so that made the car $16,700.

Outside of having your own WDS machine there is no way you can tell by yourself. If I was a betting man I'd say that your car is flashed. But my opinion is that if you don't feel any hesitation, don't get the flash! Simple as that! There's no point in getting a "fix" for a problem that doesn't exist on your car.

EDIT - my "flash sticker" is in the driver's side door jam, not the strut tower brace. Dealers are putting it in various spots.

When I took mine in for the flash, they put a sticker on the driver's side strut tower...but sounds like each dealer is different.

mine is flashed but has no sticker, i'd say your best bet is to ask the dealership since they probably have it on record if it has been done

Dealer transfered it from another dealer when I bought it. I think I can just call the service dept up and see if they can look it up in the computer. If not it doesn't hurt to reflash it. Like someone else said no hesitation no worries so I won't bother with it unless I have an issue.
