Hey guys i have had my 2007 mazda6 5door (2.3 I believe?) for a couple weeks now, and I love it.

Ever since I was smaller (I'm only 19 now) I have been a car lover, but only really as an observer, having a clean sounding/looking car has always been a dream of mine and with my new baby I can't wait to start modding.

I work part time and attend college part time and live at home so my paychecks (little as they may be) go straight to my pocket without bills/rent etc. and I want to get the nice cheap mods first.

Anyway, sorry for the rambling life story. Like I said earlier I have never really gotten a chance to be hands on with a car and don't know much about the talk of the modding community, I have been reading these boards as if mesmerized by the talk I don't understand.

I have gathered that Magnaflow mufflers are ideal for a nice sounding m6.

http://l.yimg.com/dv/izp/mazda_mazda6_s_5_door_grand_touring_2008_exterior_rearview.jpg Is the rear of my model car if that is needed at all.

With that being said, sorry if my question is dumb.
Can I purchase and have installed a muffler and have it sound like http://www.fle-online.com/Sounds/Magnaflow/15861.mp3 this clip, or is that combined with other mods? And what size(s) should i be looking at? Whats a realistic price range for all muffler parts and installation? Links would be great.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

You could always start by finding a reputable Custom Exhaust shop in your area and look into that route. Otherwise, exhaust work isn't really that intensive unless you're planning on going all the ways back to the headers. Even then it's not too bad. I would say expect somewhere in the neighborhood of $500+ for a good exhaust.

A great place to start as far as purchasing a kit if you decide not to go with the custom exhaust route would be Protege Garage. The owner, Ken, is a really cool guy and always willing to help you out/cut a deal. He really knows a lot about the parts he sells and the companies he represents. I would start there and see what you can find. Here's a link...

Happy Modding and keep us posted...

Magnaflow makes a cat back system for you car, which is located here:

Disregard the price. Their MSRP is always quite a bit higher than what you can find it for online if you hunt around.

My opinion on exhausts is that while I've owned a custom setup on previous vehicles, the 6/MS6 benefit from a nice CBE setup where its been designed. A nice 2.5" setup with new mufflers will add some growl and improve the setup.

You'll probably spend about $400 on an aftermarket system.

The 2003-2008 Mazda6 is the same.

The one you posted is for the MS6, if you look at the details.
