Hey all!
I have a 1990 MX6 GT, and a 1994 MX3 GS, so i guess two cars for this section?
Haven't been around Mazdas long, been a Honda guy, and still a Toyota guy to some extent. My first introduction to Mazda, or should i say "Fazda" was the purchase of a 1993 Escort GT to replace my girlfriend's Taurus. THAT has been quite a ride, but despite all the issues, time, and money sunk into that car, we still have it, and love it. 276k miles and ticking. (Literally, unfortunately, the head is TRASHED) Still makes great power and drives well. (After a COMPLETE suspension and brakes rebuild.)
The 1990 MX6 GT was bought to be my daily driver while i work on my Celica, for $900. It has also been interesting. It's been done for months at a time, it's been a theft victim, ($1000 worth of parts stolen off of it) and is now back on the road serving as my DD, as well as being built for the Grassroots Motorsports $2010 Challenge, where i hope to shock and awe on the drag strip. (upyours)
The 1994 MX3 GS was purchased for the princely sum of $650, runs and drives like it's brand new. (As it should, with only 86k miles on it.) Unfortunatley, the frame is rusted pretty badly. And i knew this. This will be giving up what's left of it's life to the 276k mile Escort, to facilitate my girlfriend's dream of a KLZE-powered Escort. (naughty)
Here's some random pictures of at least the three Mazdas. I can dig up pictures of the Toyota if needed. (Expecting boos and hisses.)
1) The Escort is shy, but it can be seen in the background of a few of these photos
2) The MX3 looks WAY better than it really is
3) Yes. On the MX6. Yes. That IS my exhaust.
