Nokya Hyper Yellow Stage 1 wattage

I would like to use http://nokyausa.com/hy/hy7610.htm in place of the OEM fog light bulbs. The original Mazda bulb for the fog is the 9006 rated at 51W. The Nokyas are the 9006 rated at 70W. Will this cause issues like melting wires etc?

With HIDs, they overpower the fogs. The OSRAM sylvania bulb guide website shows that the bulbs are rated at 55W. How does Mazda use a bulb that's rated at 51W?

I only use my fogs when it's foggy out and from my experience, the HIDs overpower the fogs and I cannot clearly see the wide beam pattern of the fog beam. My intention is to make it more amber so that it's more visible to me for safety reasons. Not for the cool factor. Searching on the internet has shown the Nokya's hyper yellow bulbs to be quite cost effective. I'm concerned about the watt ratings since it does seem to be higher than the OEM specifications.

Here's a good site for questions about car lighting. This guy seems to know his stuff.

He discusses using over wattage bulbs, HID conversion kits, DRL's - all kinds of fascinating info - in a very pragmatic style. He's a no BS source, IMNTBHO.

Might go LED such as http://www.eautoworks.com/product-Led-113810.htm

Less load and maybe more light. Though with LED, if the car has a "bulb-out" warning, they can trigger it. I do not think the CX-9 has this but I could be wrong.

FWIW, I doubt 70W is going to push the wires into any danger zones. We are talking 50W/12V = 4.2 Amps. 70W/12V = 5.8 Amps. I would bet that the lighting circuits are fused anyway.
