I'm just wondering if anybody has ever had a squeeking noise come from thier shocks. Its only when i go over small bumps or somthin, and i just makes a slight noise. It's not a big deal, but it's anoying the hell outa me.
An easy way to see if your bushings need replacement is while the car is parked, walk to the back end of the it and bounce it a few times. The up and down motion will start the creeking noise. If no noise occurs its something else.
If your speed is under warranty, Mazda will replace the bushings for free but you can expect to get the creeking noise back somewhere in the not to distant future.
If you decide to live with the noise it will eventually be replaced with a clunk noise. The creeking noise is the beginning of the end of the bushings, once you have the clunk you will lose rear roll stiffness and your car will handle like s***.
This all occurs because the sway bar is held at a point that is inwards from the end turn of the bar. There is a temporary bending motion that puts stress on the bushings which wears them down.
I am producing a bracket that relocated the bushings outwards at the end turn of the bar. This design is currently the only perminant fix for the clunk.
