Noise with Smart Brake Support

Does anyone know how this system works? I'm curious why it makes a grinding / ratchet noise once activated almost like the electronic parking brake is activating?

It went off once when our garage door wasn't 100% open - I did a youtube search and saw others make the same noise.

It's just the motor that pushed it for you I guess. I heard it too.

It's normal. Same type of noise when ABS kicks in, brakes are braking like crazy to save you.
