Noise when heat/ac kicks on

I have been noticing that when my heat/ac comes on in getting a pretty loud squeak and ticking? Is this the belt or pulley going out?

Pull your in cabin filter (behind the glove box) and reach your hand up there and feel around the blower fan. I bet you'll find something rubbing and once you remove it the noise will go away. Mine was ticking and it turned out to be some leaf stems that found their way through the grills below the windshield.

Well i hear it from the engine. I watched the ac compressor. And the noise starts when that kicks on

how old is your car ? might be a bearing on the ac compressor shaft going bad, happened to me on my previous car,
I applied all sorts of oil/grease and sprayed pulley belt dressing, nothing got rid of the squeaking until I replaced the compressor itself.

08 with 185k. I have a feeling i will have to replace the compressor? Can you not just change the pulley ?

sorry not really sure without actually looking at the car, but worth a shot to try changing the belt first before spending money on a new compressor.
Belt won't cost that much ~$20
a new compressor is like $200
