No longer a Protege Owner ! Protege Was Totalled 12/23/11

Well on Friday Dec 23rd i was headed home from work to meet my wife to go to a pre x mas dinner and some idiot cut in front of my car while i was driving and claimed he didn't see me..
How he didn't see me i don't know . I was the only car on the road headed head on to him and even if he was blind in both eyes he could hear me coming. My car isn't the quietest car around. So right after impact i got out of the car and yelled at the guy for being dumb and i called the wife and told her what happened before i called the police . While i was on the phone with the police a ton of people came out to see what had happened since it was a very loud accident , 2 people yelled at me to let me know my car was on fire so they helped me throw sand on the car to keep the flames down until a comcast worker pulled over and put out the fire with a fire extinguisher.
Its a sad Day in the mazda World .

Luckily for me i wasnt hurt to serious. Some whiplash and back and arm/shoulder pain. And Thank God he had insurance.
Now to move on a see whats next..

The motor somewhere not sure they towed the car really quick.. I dont think the grille is in ok shape but when i get back to see it ill keep you posted.
Yea in pain is ok since i am alive . still shocked no airbags deployed. they said its because car was so low when i hit the brake it lowered the front end more and i went under his rear bumper so the impact missed the frame of my car. it could have been alot worse.

Glad to hear you are OK.

Just remember that sometimes you might not feel symptons until months later. Have a complete check up so that if you need to file against his insurance you can do so.

not possible , frame damage , motor and front end caught fire, radiator and lights among other things need replacement not including new hood and paint.
