TO EVERYONE COMING TO THIS MEET: I AM LEADING THE DRIVE, AND I WILL BE SETTING THE PACE. I KNOW THE ROADS PRETTY WELL, AND HAVE DRIVEN THE LOOP WE'RE TAKING MANY TIMES, SO I KNOW WHEN SHARP TURNS ARE COMING UP.

PLEASE, PLEASE FOLLOW THESE BASIC RULES: NO PASSING. NO TAILGATING. HAVE FUN. IF WE'RE GOING TOO SLOW FOR YOU, TOO BAD. PEOPLE HAVE DIFFERING ABILITIES, AND I WILL BE SETTING THE PACE AT A SAFE SPEED FOR ALL. I WILL BE SLOWING DOWN FOR SHARP TURNS GRADUALLY, LONG BEFORE NECESSARY. PLEASE FOLLOW MY SUIT, AND BE SAFE.

That M3 accident is a horrible tragedy, but what makes it even sadder is the fact that it could have been easily prevented. I don't want any problems from ANYBODY participating in this drive. While what happened is a terrible thing, I hope it has a sobering effect on everybody. Stuff like this can, and will, happen if we do not follow rules of basic common sense. A lot of you don't know the area as well as I do, and that is why I will be taking things slower than I normally do. We all like to drive hard sometimes (or all the time), but safety is the name of the game here. This is a large group of people, and we will be showing the Mazda brand with pride. Don't make a bad example by trying to show off. It isn't worth it.

Wow, I feel so pround being a member of a group where people wants to play safe. THAT'S how everyone shold be showing off their cars, by respecting the road and other road users. Way to go Justin and everyone, I'm hyped for this meet.

good question, i put the word out with all the pro-mazda guys in the area..maybe we'll see some of them come

awsome.. i tried getting info on how we can start a chapter around here, but they said they have to meet us first

i'm psyched for this meet and drive very psyched. But it seems like this is getting out of hand with the too many rules single file your the boss business. IMHO i was under the impression that we were a group of educated adults that were meeting up with similar automotive interests. I didnt think we were going to be a banner for the mazda community and that we had to be on our best behavior with the tone of the previous posts it seems that i may get spanked or detention if i dont keep my place in line. just my 2 cents.

Most of the roads don't even allow passing, so the 'rules' I made are simply following the law.

After hearing about what happened during that M3 meet, I feel that I had to step up and make that post.

The problem is, I don't know anybody that's going to the meet, and nobody knows how everyone normally drives.

Because I'm the one that organized this meet, I feel responsible for everyone's safety. I just don't want to have anything bad happen during this meet. If we all follow my lead, don't tailgate each other, and use common sense, everyone will have fun and be safe as well.

Like I've said before, I'm handing out directions/maps of this route, so if you like it, and want to drive it harder another time, then go right ahead. Just don't do it at this meet.

I'm sorry if anyone took my post the wrong way, it wasn't meant to be like that. I know everyone coming should be mature enough to realize that they're probably going to have to drive a bit slower than they normally do to maintain a safe distance from each other. But like I said before, I don't know anyone from these boards. I'm just covering my ass.

Jersey,

So you understand what I was getting at before? No matter what kind of rules you set or provide, people will still want to do their own thing bro. I'm glad you typed that reply.

I am completely with you man. Definitely refute all responsibility by saying that and its completely intelligent but as you said you dont know everyone and i know for a fact if we are traveling slower than usual people are definitely going to brake off and do there own thing. Its just how it is Its hard to keep people this into cars and driving single file doing the speed limit etc.

most of the roads we will be on you wont be able to pass people, they are narrow roads one lane and double line most of the way. Also on the weekend cops tend to be out and about looking for the weekend cruiser going to fast.
