Nintendo Wii Price and launch date revealed

sega is just the worst company to invest money into. dreamcast was such a waste of money even though it was fun for a while. plus the ability to download and burn games onto cdrs without any mods was fun too. but sega didnt even try to keep that system alive

i'll have to disagree i thought the dreamcast was awesome.had good gameplay and pretty damn good graphics.

I hope nintendo doesn't end up like sega. There systems just die and the gamecube is struggling. I am a sony guy but I love the price of the nintendo systems. $600 is a lot for the ps3 but I will probably buy one in the future.............And a wii.

Sega ran itself into the ground releasing too many lackluster consoles too soon. I had a genesis and had great fun with it but then there was :

The 32X
The Sega CD
The Sega Satrun
The Sega Dreamcast

They released these in rapid fire succession and they all for the most part tanked. Even though the Dreamcast was a great little system (Powerstone FTW!!)

Nintendo has got a piggy bank so big, they are in no danger of going broke. Sega did not go broke but they did not have the cash to launch another console.

The gamecube was a moderate success. Not a smash hit but not an abject failure either and also it was very profitable for nintendo. Unlike the Xbox and PS2, which lost money on every console they sold, The gamecube was all profit.

I will say this though. If the Wii does fail, I think Nintendo will leave the console business and focus on handhelds and software development.

I think the Wii will do well.

Sony is more likely to end up like sega at this point. If the PS3 bombs then i don't think there will be a PS4, and if blue ray doesn't become the next gen standard, then i don't forsee sony being a very big player anymore...

Yeah. 400 bucks back in the day was soo expensive.

And the games were lie $100 a piece cuz they were supposed to be direct arcade ports.

I sincerely doubt that.

Doing a price cut 1.5 months after release is unheard of.

I'll be picking up a Wii myself. I give Nintendo a lot of credit for actually trying to revolutionize gaming rather than coming out with more polished versions of the games we've been playing for the past 10 years.

I may get a 360 in the future after the price comes down, but so far, as impressed as I am with the system graphically, the games are generally kind of ho-hum. The only game I really like for the 360 is PGR.

As for the PS3...time will tell. LOTS of time. LOL.
