***NFL Update - Quincy Carter Released***

this cracks me up. i live near big d and hate the cowboys. i'm sure i'll catch flame. but this goob deserved it. he has been talking huge about how is it the number 1 back for dallas. how he is the starter and testaverde is just back up. this is what he gets.....shmo!! if they get rid of a few more low life players i might be able to root for the home team once again.

Now the "Boys have to deal with Vincenzo at the helm.....i'm sensing a lot of work for Eddie George.
As a Giants fan, i'm loving this.

What an idiot. He was clinging to his only chance to be an NFL starting QB, and he had to go and get stoned. He and Ricky should get with William Green and start their own team. They'd perform really well on grass...

I'm a Cowboy fan, but not a Carter fan. However, I don't think the remaining three quarterbacks are much better.

It's sad actually. Q needs help, not bashing. Anyone who has been an addict will tell you it's not that easy to stop. Of course he should of never started, but now he needs help. He's not the best QB, but I'd have him on my team cause he plays ballsout. Not afraid to take a chance that could win the game. Sometimes you make a mistake. A lot QB's who make those clutch throws are a slip, hesitation, & tip drill away from messing up A la Peyton Manning against the Pats last year.
Also if Jerry Jones went against league/players union's drug testing & did their own under the false pretenses of doing a health check... Then he should get the NFL Version of the NCAA death penalty to a football program. He should have to sell the team.
ONCE AGAIN, QUINCY CARTER IS A DUMBASS FOR EVER MESSING WITH DRUGS, but Jerry Jones is not above the NFL rules. Idiot. Had he left Jimmy Johnson alone they would of dominated the entire 90's...

CowBoy FAn !! Carter was alright, whatever happened to hutchenson??

I'm sure we will do hella better then last season! Ha we also got Keyshawn Johnson!! Yea! (2thumbs)

I agree, Vinny Testaverde and Keyshawn Johnson are the best QB reciever combo the cowboys have had since Aikman and Irvin. While Testaverde isn't what he was in his prime, he still had a much better record last year than Carter. Combine that with a reciever who can get open and catch and I think we'll have a more successfull overall team.

Plus now there's Eddie George in the backfield. Those three guys should provide a solid foundation for the next few years. Plenty of time for the Cowboys to mold Drew Henson and the other young players on the team.

I don't expect the Cowboys to make it that far in the playoffs this year, but they should have a more balanced offensive attack which should lead to a better season record.

Ha, you can keep "Me-shawn" - he's a catylist for negativity and a pain in the butt...his new team is the perfect team for him! hehe....

Sometimes all those types of players need is a good coach to keep them in line. Parcels seems to getting that type of respect from his players, and he should, his record demands it. I think Keyshaw all ready respects Parcells, having played successfully for him in the past. I think if he wasn't willing to work he would have gone to play for a different coach and team.

Hopefully Keyshawn will feel like he has a coach in his corner, and something to prove to the rest of the NFL this year. We'll see.

Well said TX Speed - this year in general I think will be interesting for A LOT of teams.

Is it football season yet?! :D

The Boys are SOL, the Vikes and Eagles are going to rule the NFC this year.

Too bad got QC too cause he had potential too, you could see that. Especially with Parcells runnin the show.

And yeah, Keyshawn is worthless. Sorry to say but you didn't gain much there. Unless he stops being such a b**** and plays the game.

Quincy was in drug rehab before all this went down- Turned back to drugs and got booted- Parcells has never been cool with attitude or drugs!
That Division is gonna be tough this yr and having Vinny at the helm won't help!
The Redskins and Eagles are looking good -Atleast Vinny has an O-line unlike the Redskins but the Redskins have an awesome coach, and GREAT running back in Portis.

Quincy might be going to the redskins....And Ricky Williams just said he wants to play for the Raiders in 2005, but the dolphins would have to give up the rights to him, and if they are still bitter about how he treated them then the Raiders will have to pay dearly for him....and about football season starting, it is about time...I got my dolphins tickets in this week from ticketmaster, and I have 4 regular season games and 1 preseason game, which is in less than 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!Gotta love the NFL.

I thought Ricky would be free to play with anyone in 05! I heard that he would be free to play with whoever he wanted to when he filed his retirement papers
And the Redskins DON'T need Quincy, they have Ramsey and Brunell both more talented than Quincy

the dolphins own the rights to ricky for 3 more years, so if he wants to go to the raiders then they are going to have to give up something.... NFL rules prohibit the Raiders from commenting on Williams because he is under contract to another team. But the Dolphins retain Williams' rights for three seasons following his retirement, which means Oakland might have to swing a trade to acquire his services taken from this page...

Yes, the Cowboys are SOL. Keyshawn is going to be even more worthless when Vinny breaks his hip or something else. Yes, even though Kearse WILL get hurt early in the season and T.O. will be crying by the third or fourth game, the Eagles will still be one of the better NFC teams. But the Viqueens! C'mon! They'll be lucky to finish over .500. They're going to choke again this year. And don't forget that that the Pack fired their defensive coordinator that allowed a fuc%^&N 4th and 26 turn into a first down last year in the playoffs.
