Next Level Performance chip! Good or Bad?

only chips/mods that work is the CPE one...rest are just $5 radio shack resisters with wires soldered and sold for $25-$50

There is also a "UNICHIP" available for our car, which retails for 692.00 USD. (If you got into the group buy).

So here's the list of available performance chips.

1) CP-E 250.00 USD (Requires Injen Intake) +18.1 hp, +14.9 ft/lbs (In addition to injen gains)

2) Greedy E-manage 400-500 USD (Requires Programing) Gains dependent on dyno tuning and mods.

3) Unichip 700.00 USD (Group Buy Price) +18 hp, +15 ft/lbs (max gains)

4) AEM EMS 1400.00 USD (Completely programmable) Gains determined by mods and dyno tuning.

At one point diablo motorsports flasher was being discussed...but even if development started today, it would still be around 12-18 months away. A recent discussion with diablo motorsports indicates development itself is 6-12 months away, so by the time it comes out, nobody will really care anymore.

Any "chip" or "easy mod" thats usually under 200 bucks and sold on ebay, is a scam. Its just a rehashed variant of yee old magical wonder cures sold in the 1800's by traveling salesman....just now its got stupid photos and some flashing graphics.

if you want to join in then good luck post results when finished...

P.S. was there a dyno from any of the non employes/venders/dealers/sellers/whoever I didn't cover?

ok2,

Use google. I'm not going to sit here and dig up 3000 scam websites to show you why a 20 dollar kit which is nothing more then a stupid resistor can damage your engine.

Why the hell people think they can get 20 WHP for 20 bucks is beyond me. Spend 20k on a car, then chimp out on mods...then wonder why they throw a rod.

Wow, they really make everything sound so legit. Personally i would have to be very skeptical of any product that is so cheap and proclaims 10HP gains.
I spent $250 on the CP-E unit and i can tell you it does work and they only claim like 5-7HP for it. But it is also dyno proven with results posted on their site. Most things that give you any real HP will cost you.
Sounds like buyer beware to me. If anyone get it and installs it please post up your findings.

Remember that the max gain for the CP-E is over 18 HP!!! Peak's relatively small though, but thats the least important of the numbers...its the increased area under the entire curve that gives you the most umf. :)
