Wow, lots of drama in this thread. Take everything on the "intraweb" with grain of salt dude, take care of your s*** and get it back on the road.

I agree with both sides of the argument. I'm at 65K with stock motor, lsd, exhaust mani and running 8-9lbs since 12K. It's all in how you drive, if you beat the crap out of your car every time you get in it then of course it's not going to last. If you mod beyond the limits then expect to pay for it.

That being said, Mazda definitly could've done better with this car. bad stock tune, crappy stereo components, and a retarded rear sway bar setup...nuff said.

Edit* On second thought I suppose Mazda can't be blamed for Kenwood's crappy stuff. However another thing they could've done better is used a more efficient intercooler and not some diesel parts bin crap in order to save "X" amount of dollars.

Thanks man, i do beat it, but not all the time, mostly when i prick pulls up next to me and he thinks he's hot s***, i've beaten a number of Mustang GT's, Sentra SE-R, 350Z, Yamaha R6, BMW 330ci, and a few more, i don't think that's a bad line up at all, but now i'm the one with the blown motor :-(

Meh, at least your having fun with it, that's all that matters. :D If you go forged then you can go nuts with it and not have to worry about blowing it again (assuming proper tune of course).

Correct, i have to wait three months tho, but it will be so worth it, while it's down i'm gonna pull out the LSD and weld it and replace the clutch too

you know what Frost? I've read a lot of your posts and I've come to the conclusion that you're an idiot.

I remember your argument where you were trying to justify running catless, but this one tops even that.

Read the 10 pages that fkmp5 posted.

Retards like that guy and you claiming you would do the same thing make it harder for the poor bastards who have legitimate claims.

As for your list of 3, I'm at 86,000 KM's, stock motor, slightly raised boost, the original LSD and Exhaust manifold.

(rofl)

honestly i agree with both sides here...i mean it is totally ****** up that you blow your car up with your own mods then get a free engine by putting it back to stock, but at the same time if it happened to me at the point im at in my life right now (having to pay 3000 to get a new motor would devistate all my other finances and make it almost impossible to live...) Id absolutely take my car to get a new motor(if i had the money id totally forge and leave mazda out of it...but that money just doesnt exist right now for me)

But i dont think id feel that bad making mazda buy me a brand new engine that probably doesnt cost that much for them to make considering how much they **** anyone at the dealership for parts and labor...plus they are a huge corporation and have the overhead to replace an engine once in awhile...i mean they produce how many cars over a year and make how many thousands of dollars per car sold?

What it comes down to is that it's a dog eat dog world and if i cant make money to support my family because i have no car because i blew my modded engine and my morals prevent me from pullin a fast one over on mazda then im really only screwing myself and my family.

You have to pay to play.

If you can't afford to blow your engine, then don't boost it.

I can't afford to blow my engine, so I lessen the risk of blowing mine by boosting 8 PSI with supporting mods, and I don't beat the hell out of my car.

If you don't have $ to support your family, car mods are the last thing you should be buying.

i was running from him till my gov kicked in, oh and who the hell are you to judge me anyway, i have the money to mod, warranty pays for everything, once again, it's NOT a factory warranty, so back the **** off, i dont need anyone in here acting like my dad, if you don't like it stay out of the thread, we don't need you're wise ass comments!

You explained the warranty...that's done.

read what i've written....where have I "judged" you?

I asked you to explain the warranty thing since I had never heard of it.

It still doesn't make sense to me, but if they cover your car, hell I'll go buy a warranty like that too.

The reference to $ was directed at crashkelly, read who I quoted.

I'm calling BS on you outrunning an R6...that's all. Some of the other cars in your "list" are suspect to say the least, but the R6 stands out.

He either wasn't trying or didn't know how to drive.

Oh, and what governor are you talking about?

Well almost everyone including you were bitching me out cause i blew my motor, s*** happens, so what, but i don't wanna talk about that anymore.

The MSP's here in the states govern at around 135mph, the guy on the R6 was black, and there were tight turns that he was prob scared of so i got the lead and won except for when the gov kicked in, if the warranty is available in Canada i suggest getting it, it's a good investment for you car, then if, just if, something breaks you won't have to fork out thousands of dollars to get ur car fixed

listen im not saying its right...but hey not everyone has the luxury of having money like that all the time...and i like to mod my car...maybe at some point i did have the money to "pay to play" but other things in life come up from time to time and wipe out a bank account...when i do need to be watching out for my family then i dont mod the car...but if icome into some money and can afford to put some aside and have a little spending then i dont feel bad at all doing something nice for myself and the car.

But i should make a point...with my personal situation i am running my car almost identically to yours because ive done the homework on these cars (8psi...removed MBC cause of the spikes...supporting mods in my sig...and i baby it)...so before i do anything drastic to my car yes i will make sure i have the "pay to play" money, but in the meanwhile while im playing it safe if for one reason or another it blows and i wouldnt feel bad getting a free engine if my livelihood depends on it(that was for arguments purpose because my warranty is already out!)

Just so no one gets the wrong idea here...i do think it that if you boost too high and put more than the car can handle on your engine the dealership IS NOT responsible for your mistake....BUT my point was that sometimes in life you just have to do what you have to do and take care of yourself first before worrying about every other consumer who might by a mazda or mazda products...im just being realistic because i feel that most people on this forum are like me...DIRT POOR! I do my best for my family and when there is some spare change around i treat myself...but if something went wrong with my car at the present time period i would absolutely 100% take advantage of a dealership if i could and would not feel bad about it because id just be doing what i have to do to get by for my family.

and no offense SAMSP but i totally agree with R6 flag going up...no msp...governer or not...is beating any R6...and it doesnt count as a win if you were beating him until the governer kicked in and he caught up...
when someone catches you and passes you its a loss

Like i said, it was thru turns, i will never beat it on a straight, that's down rite rediculous but i also think he was scared of going all out, and i've said that before too

All I'm saying is ... if something breaks on my car and it will be paid for under warrenty I'm going to take the warrenty. I'm only 20 ... I have an MSP, a 1994 Pontiac ... my own appartment .... and a ton of other s*** bills. I don't just have 4 grand to spill on a motor but, I love modding and working on my car ... Anyone in the same boat?

an R6 .. depneds who rides it..

in tight turns no bike can out run a car with handling like a msp..period..

but from a start or top speed.. i have yet to see a car pull on me on my zx9 (jetted, kn filter, full exaust and one tooth down in front) exept maybe a C6 from the start.. the first 100 feet... the bike does 10.3 on the quarter when it's stock.. im not saying i do 10.3 though.. thats with a great launch.. and it's not that easy to launch a 403 lbs bike that raises the front in second just by twisting the throttle..

Fr0st
