Newegg shipping Damage

So what did I expect?

Newegg had a nice PC case for basically free other then shipping once you apply the rebate.
So, of coarse, and this thing is beat to crap.
The front cover was pried off, breaking all retaining pins other then the 2 at the bottom. The sides were both pried from the front -> back but had the screws still holding them in so the back panel is mangled. Just to add insult to injury, as I could have fixed those problem, when the fan was installed, they over tightened it and cracked the plexy real good.

Of coarse this thing is out of stock and probably discontinued...I smell bait and switch as there is no possible way that these things could have happened in transit.

Any advice?
Do they offer full credit refunds?
Will master card remove the purchase if I ask them to based on this?

I would expect them to offer only a newegg credit, meaning I get boned.

Thanks

UPDATE: 1/5
Will this s*** ever end?
Neweeg has to be the damned worst comapny I have ever dealt with and they are by FAR the worst I have ever encountered online.

Luckily my Neighbor dropped off the case that afternoon. So I call newegg and they say to refuse it, and they will creidt my card. THAT WAS 3 WEEKS AGO!
mean while, the status is still locked at phase 3 and the RMA is STILL listed as a replace!
I have called twice, wrote 4 emails, and talked to people on the stupid instant messanger system twice. NOTHING HAS changed.
All I get is an email saying how the "Claims Department" will be in touch with me in 3-5 days. That was over 2 weeks ago now.

So at this point I am contacting my credit card company to claim a wrongful and unauthorized charge.

God damn ridiculous!

I've never had any problems with Newegg. The few times I needed a refund they did so quickly and without hassle. They sent a replacement, along with a box and prepaid shipping label to send the damaged item back at no cost to me. If it wasn't damaged in transit, the damage probably was done when the manufacturer assembled it.

There is not a helmet large enough for the retard that put this thing together if that was the case. Also, I do not think any person could even physical cause this damage. I still cant figure out how it would even happen.

the few times i've had any issues with newegg, they've resolves REALLY fast with shipping me replacements right away. just give them a call at their customer service number and explain the situation. they will definitely fix it for you.

dude, we've got a 98% customer satisfaction rate. just hit up our customer service and tell them what happen. They'll give you a replacement along with a ups label to ship the damage case back.

Please understand that I am not attempting to knock your company here. Schit happens, I just want to know what to expect. I was pleased that you cover return shipping. I assume this means you apy for the shipping of the new unit as well?

My concern is that how you gonna do a replacement with nothing in stock?
I am also a bit concerned that the rebate on this case calls for an original receipt and there was nothing from new egg other then a packing sticker on the box. Hopefully this is no big deal.

was it damaged in transit or when it was assembled?

OT: did you ever get that multicam discussion taped?

no worries. things like this happen all the time with ups. If the case is not in stock when you are doing your RMA, they will just refund you in full. You can either getthe same case when it's back in stock, or just find a different one.

There in lies the issue, that case had/has a 50 rebate on it. No other case you have is even close. So if I get a different one, I am getting a much lesser case, considering when all done this one was only the cost of shipping and anything else will be a lot more. So if I can not get teh same case and still take advatage of the rebate, I would demand a full refund.

The problem with that is it qualifies this situation as a "bait and switch" and essentialy consumer fraud. Especialy where I can not seen any way this item was damaged like this in shipping and I honestly believe, its condition was known by newegg when shipped to me, hence the rebate in the first place. They were hoping to move a load of damaged goods and then people would either send them back as damaged so that they can go after UPS or file it as a loss. Or they are hoping people just keep it since it ends up being $15 for a functional yet beat to crap case.

So if I can not get this case, and the rebate, I will consider filling a complaint with the powers that be in Whittier CA. Not just Newegg

wow, I am sorry but I am really surprise at this accusation. With our company approaching close to 2Billion dollars in sales, I don't think that we get here by selling already damaged goods and risking the chance of bad reviews. We have great relationships with our vendors, and we will NEVER sell anything that is damage. Even our returns are inspected before accepting and we states clearly on our website all the terms and conditions. We can't speak for what happen once the case is loaded in the ups truck. We honor all products for returns and exchange as long as it's within our warranty period. I really don't know what else you can ask for. I think I am going to stop here now.
