Newbie joining

Just wanted to say hey, newbie here, actually haven't gotten my MSP, but I'm picking it up friday. It's a 2003.5 and dark silver. Previous owner babied it, has 41k miles on it, already installed boost/temp/oil press guages, along with injen CAI, and a turbo timer ( forget the brand ). It's an over all clean car I'm excited to get it.

Just trying to get familiar with the message board and learn a little bit more about MSP's and turbo's in general. I currently own a 1995 Eagle Talon, in which is my daily beater, so im happy to get a MSP ( I was planning on a Lexus IS 300, but decided on the MSP ). I had a lot of questions which ill probably do more research and alot of things I see that I should plan and look ahead for. But I'm at work and hopefully ill post inquires when I get home.

Welcome to the forum. I am sure you will find ALOT of info about your new car here on the forum. The msp is alot of fun, just mod it correctly if at all.

Yeah when I test drove it, it was very interesting, I wanted it mainly for the 4 doors and turbo reasons. I do see according the forums issues with the LSD, that actually bothers me..but I guess I'll just prepare for it.

Later on when I do begin to upgrade items, i'll ask about it..especially regarding upgrading the hardpipes, sidemount , BOV or BPV, and purchasing and finding someone to install the welded LSD.

I do see Ken? at ProtegeGarage seems to be a reliable source for parts for the MSPs, so I'll be sure to purchase items from that store.

Pretty much any question you have about the MSP has already been asked, and the answer can be found somewhere within the forums. This place is a goldmine of information.

Keep us posted with how the mods progress, and show us some pics when you pick up the car!

Yeah welcome to the fourms.

Get some type of EMS and take care of the welded lsd and you have nothing further to really worry about that would cause your car to be down for long periods of time and cost tons of money. If you have any questions ask away.

Lex park eh? I'm usually in St mary's on weekends, my g/f lives in California MD. Never seen the blue one there, i don't think... your car have carbon fiber trunk and hood?

YA where did you get it? Sounds like mine- if it is I did baby it. Mine has the Apexi Turbo Timer and Vibrant exhust. I was to lazy to take them off-lol. The oil pressure guage doesnt work i never figured out how to hook it up but the wiring is there. If you have any questions let me know.

Yes, Ken and a group of his employee's (myself included), have almost any part you can find for the Protege. If you have questions most will say search before ask, which is always a must on a forum, but also feel free to PM myself or any of the AV's or their reps and they will be happy to assist you in any way possible... and welcome to the forums!
