Newbe!! My first carbon hood!!

The reason I asked about the color was to see if there was a possible two tone in the works. Not with the blue though lol.

Yes funny you say that I was thinking about doing a two tone. Black on top pink on bottom but I decided just all pink with the CF hood. Sad to say I should have bought a diff color and I might think more about the two tone but pink and that blue not so hot =( but I will start my pink accents hopefully it wont look to bad?

I wonder if using a clear paint protection vinyl (+/-20 mil) would solve the problem? It certainly helps protect plastic headlamp lenses from sun and chips. I can attest to that, and I know it has UV protection properties as well. And it can be waxed with a good quality carnuba for further protection.
Of course it would also add a little weight.....

THANKS GUYS! I want to get a good quality hood they way I look at it and from past experience you get what you pay for. Does carbon chip easy or something? Im a highway driver and get rocks thrown on my car almost everyday! *sigh

I have a OEM Seibon CF hood and I take high ways whenever and I leave all year around, winter is hard in CT and still that thing looks fresh!!! just a hint, dont use ur stock arm to hold the hood up when open it will crack it!!! other than that, it got a nice yellow color to the clear and it just matches my blazin yellow MSP =)

OH YEAH I SEE =)... You start the club and im in!! Wished you lived in KS so we can hit carshows together and have the pink club here. The pinkness that runs around here are ungly rattle can crap. Besided the new 2010 camaro its white with 2 pink racing stripes down the middle of it and the blazer I did. The saturn I did was wrecked and totalled so thats not driving around =(

You could always get a very light coat of paint.
You'll have the color while still being able to see the weaves of the CF.

The stripe is actually misaligned, and the tape I used to mask it was not very good... Lol.
I need to sand it and re-do it.

I like the hint of color idea on the CF that would look pretty sweet. WOW all the ideas im going crazy I guess I need more then one car so I can do it all lol
