I posted this in another forum and it seemed to get a good response so I figured I would post it here as well. Note the effectiveness of what I am about to tell you will be dyno tested this weekend

I thought that the title would get your attention. I hope I didn't get your hopes up too high, but I may have found a way to turn off traction control along with the dynamic stability control. One day when I started the car and pressed the dsc button the traction control light came on with the dsc off light, I thought oh **** what is wrong with my car (note I am not talking about the dsc off icon, I am talking about the icon that lights up when you lose traction). Anyway, I pushed the dsc button again and the traction control light went away along with the dsc off light. I pressed the button again and the dsc off icon lit up but not the traction control icon. So I have been wondering how I did this the first time and I finally figured it out today. If you press the dsc button within the first 5-10 seconds of starting the car both lights will stay illuminated. I believe this means both systems are disabled. After doing this I took a drive and the car pulled well and felt different, but it was a short drive so I don't know it could have been the cold weather today. (dance)

This is called "dyno mode". It is used for rolling road type smog check stations so it doesn't get all weird when only the front wheels are rotating. I have driven mine in this mode and the car seems "livelier", but it is hard to make real evaluations without doing crazy stuff.

How do you know it is called dyno mode, where have you heard about this.
It was the same in the last two cars I have had with traction control. It may be a requirement or something because at least in many counties in California, bi-annual smog tests now have a rolling road component. AWD cars are exempt because 4-wheel rolling roads are a huge expense, but they don't want to exempt all cars with traction control because soon there will be nothing left to test. If you drive two wheels on the rolling road with the other two stopped, it makes the traction control very unhappy.
