Okay, so I made the mistake of listening to some Kicker SS components a couple months ago and, well here we are... This is the SS56.2 (5-1/4")set and a pair of SSMB8 midbass' I'm not really sure if the 8's are gonna fit in-door. they're fine depth-wise just REALLY large. which'll be dope if I can manage to squeeze them in (and don't think I won't try) But ifnot, I've also got a set of 6-1/2's as backup. then the 8's can be used for a friend's underseat sub project.
COOL! I jsut realised that the components come with 5x7 plates.. I might toss 'em in the doors too anxious to wait for my slowass to make new kicks...
At anyrate, mostly I'm prety damn giddy. The quad 4's are still in existance, and they're actually going to be finished, then put in the g/f's car. Actually, I just madeup some pretty cool tweeter mounting rings at school (machinist school). Everyhting is to such a tight tolerance, that it all pressfits, no need for clamps or whathaveyou. it actually almost took a hammer to get 'em back out after test fitting the first time around. Prolly about a solid day's worth of lathework for the pair. cost effective, no, but when you've got the stuff at youre disposal, and are way ahead in class, it's a perfect plaything.
