New Toy :D

very nice sir... does your camera have that "special" setting where it makes my car look nice? lol

sweet camera. your guys l33t camera lingo is too much for me though. i own a disposable camera from walmart. $5.00

Thanks! Funny you should mention that, I just found that today. Looks like I'm returning my lense I bought. He said it basically sucks heh...

Thanks again!
Chris

eah, i don't care for the 75-300 mm i don't even use mine; however, it was a gift which could not be returned by the time i recieved it. changing the lenses back and forth is a pain in the butt too. i hope u find a lens that suits you, chris. like i said; i'd love to get 1 of those huge binocular type lenses they use when they take pictures of the awesome surf but i think that's too much money to waste since i don't have a career taking pictures rather it would only be for leisure use and since i'm all leisure, the stock lens is fine. don't forget the filters and caps/covers! you have to try black and white film one day. those are fun to use. good luck and have fun!

Don't bother with none-L lense. Save all your pennies for some nice L lense and you'll be set for life (that's of course if you keep 350D for life). I used to have Tamron and Sigma lense because they were cheap. Though, I finally decide to get a 17-40L and it was AMAZING. My next stop is 70-200L, it would cost an arm and a leg, but I bet it will be worth it.

While we're on this subject. I've posted a FS thread. If anyone or know anyone interested in a D70, I've listed it on ebay.

yeah, i've read up on those two lenses and saw some sample pics. they are absolutely sweet.

There are alot of pictures of 70-200L and 17-40L. Both are two most popular lense in Canon product lines. Check out www.pbase.com and search via lense and you'll se alot of great photos.

L series o.O man... I need to part out my car to get those! haha. Thanks for the suggestion!

yeah, the 70-200L f/4L is cheapest L series lens and it's about $600. get the faster f/2.8L version with IS and it's like $1700... dang

Nice lens! the IS should really help for those low light situations.... take some sample pics plz. :)

70-200mm f/4L i honestly don't think it's worth it. It doesn't have IS and f number is too high, which I think it would require tripod or monopod.

I've played around with 28-135 and I think it's a great lense for the price. Also, You'll really love the IS. I've heard some people shot those at night w/o using tripod.

i've been reading on some photo forums and alot of people use two main lenses that cover a great range:

24-70mm f/2.8L and the 70-200mm f/2.8L .... apparently these two are the very popular lenses. the IS is optional on the 70-200mm, but also adds alot more to the cost of the lens.

Thanks for your comments guys :D

I'm learning the functions and I've been to some photography forums also. I want to get an L-series lense soon, but I want to see if I can write off my camera and lense 100% before I do any more spending :D

Vern, sure, just let me borrow your car... forever (thumb)

write it off? hrm...and my car? hee hee...it's so bassup! the front bumper is hanging right now lol! i'm 2 lazy 2 fix it and all the dog chew ugh...hehe

and in my opinion...the 70-200 mm really is not worth it.

Yep. Those are the two most popular lense in Canon product line. Some even preferred 17-40 over 24-70 because 24-70 is quite heavy for walk-around lense. I personally think the IS function is almost a must. :P But again, none of them are cheap. What you pay for is what you'll get...

so what, seems like everyone knows their cameras... i have a digital rebel and a film rebel 2000...couple lenses flashes ...ect, so anyone down for a photoshoot cruise
