2013 CX-5 Grand Touring AWD
Just found out about this forum! I bought my 2013 Mazda Cx-5 back in May after driving a 02 VW Jetta... it feels great not to be in the shop every other week! Unfortunately my Mazda was hit just three weeks after I got him :( Anybody else have my luck?! Repairs took forever...I finally got him back yesterday morning.

Excited to be part of the Mazda family now!

Welcome to the forum!!!

Sorry to hear about your misfortune... What exactly happened to your CX-5?

Thanks!! I was on a busy route in my town and a car rear ended a stationary car in the lane next to me. The car that was rear ended swerved into my lane and I instictivley swerved at the same time and he clipped me. I wasn't sure if he was trying to avoid the person in front of him or what exactly because he/she ended up leaving the scene. The damage was very minor, mostly just scratches to the fender on the passenger side and the trim above the tire. Once it got to the shop though they found damage to the headlight and ended up replacing it in addition to the fender. They thought they could just repair it at first. (It took even longer because the fender was delivered broken.) I got very lucky that the driver who caused the wreck actually took care of all my repairs. It was just a bummer because I hadn't even made a payment yet! At least the anticipation of the first scratch/accident is gone though. :)

UGH!!! An accident before the first payment... Not fair at all! Glad that it was minor and that things are back in good shape for you!

Yes it was minor and I didn't have to pay a cent which was great! Having some tail light issues but I'm going to give my car the benefit of the doubt and blame it on the body shop! Should be an easy fix! I'm just happy to have it back :) :) I missed it!

Welcome to the forum.
The more the merrier!

I had your luck.

1st, A guy hit my civic and totaled it, promting me to buy a replacement.
11 days later (3rd day of owning the CX-5) a guy rear ended me at a stop sign.
It was in the shop for 7 days due to paint matching issues for Pearl White.

Gosh thats horrible. My parent's Jetta was a lemon... and I was a young female driver, enough said (RTM) So when I set out to own my first car I wanted to take care of it! I wanted the white one at first but the ones close to my State had tan interior and I wanted black, so I drove home with the metallic gray. I chose it over the Ford Escape, which I am quite pleased with now haha. I was determined to not let anything happen to it! Guess the guy who hit me had other plans :(

Maybe our luck will change!

This was an actual concern of mine when I first considered getting the CX-5 in Pearl White... I quickly forgot all about it when I saw, and fell in love with the pearl white...

This happened to me in the car I had before my CX-5, but after only 6 months I was rear ended at a stop light and had $20,000 in damage. Car was in the shop for 2 months+ and never drove right again. The insurance company for the guy who hit me bitched all the way. It's been 7 months since that accident and I still don't have my medical bills paid or anything else. The only ones who have been paid are my insurance company who footed the bill for the tow and repairs and rental car and then got reimbursed. =/
