Hey guys I got this silver 07 from a mercedes dealer! 16250 out the door with 34000 miles, not bad huh? (breakn)

lol anyways I already activated the trip computer and im averaging 27 mpg which is wayyy above my expectations, and you know when you first a car you punch it alot :D

Question, I was plugging in the aux cable in the back of my radio (read another walkthrough here, you guys are awesome) and I managed to scratch the black dash next to it! OUCH, idk it does not look too bad now but its night time...does anyone know of any product that i can apply to hide it? Thanks in advance! here are some pics:

Ooo... Very nice. Good price and it looks nice. Although whenever you buy a used one, you don't how it was taken car of. As for the scratch, sorry. I've got nothin. The trip computer always reads a little optimistically. Welcome and watch out for the Mod-bug, it bites very hard.

Thanks, for the trip computer this is what you do:

Press the AM/FM and CD button and turn your key to the ACC position while still holding on those buttons (until you see all your dash lights on) , hold it a couple of seconds and you will see a "DIS on" sign come on. Then you just let the buttons go and turn the key back to off, then you can turn the key to ACC again and hit "SET" and you will see all your info in there. Hope that helps.

As for not knowing how the car was treated you are def. right, looks like the dealer didnt even bother to change the oil, so I changed all the fluids ASAP and it came out BLACK, yuck. Silky gold Mobil1 synthetic oil resides in my happy go motor now :D

Whats the mod bug? lol, <--- newbie

Up next = MazdaSpeed CAI :)

That right there...lol. If you get a CAI, get the CP-E or the AEM because it has the correct MAF size and air straigteners. Also try to upgrade the rear motor mount, either via poly inserts or a different mount. It will greatly improve shifting and keep the engine from trying to jump out of your hood...

I have an 08.5 sport and just tried this and it didn't do anything. Is this just a GT thing or should it work on the Sport? Also where is the set button?

lol oh no call the doctor I've got the mod bug! BTW I've felt that motor jump.

But If I pop in the mazdaspeed it does not void warranty...right?..

That depends if your car has a warranty still. I imagine the factory 36k is still there, but not for much longer. As for voiding it, that depends on your service tech. It shouldn't even tho it could be bought from the dealer back then. The part has to be the sole cause of the problem. The Mazdaspeed intake insn't even that good.

It only works for the 07 sports. The 8.5's have a different head unit so it doesn't work. All the GT's have this feature. I believe the 07 head unit can be swapped and the feature activated.

correct, you can purchase a radio off ebay and install it to get this feature, it takes about 5 minutes to install. I got one a 6 disc one for 50 :) As for intakes, go AEM or Injen. Injen has proper MAF size and AEM has air straightener. CP-E also has this but it actually runs' richer than stock (as seen in CP-E's own testing) so gains aren't as high as other CAI's

Hey Bro,

Congrats on your purchase, you will love the little rocket !! now as for your problem that you initially asked help with, theres nothing you can really do that will help to "fix" the problem you can only try and "blend" the scratch in. The piece is textured so it's gonna be very difficult to try and cover, so I would suggest get one of those vinyl/leather repair kits that has the liquid that hardens and it comes with different texture pads, kits like 8 bucks if I recall at Walmart use it then once it looks and feels close to the surrounding then get some black magic dash silicone and wipe it and it should look good as new.

GOOD LUCK.

Thanks! Your answer was very extremely helpful! I will def. try this because that scratch is killing me! Needless to say no more popping out the radio at night with little light (yupnope)

Those fogs look really bright. Are those HID fogs?

James

Nop the car is completely stock head to toe..or bumper to bumper? hehe, about to change

glad I can help. Remember when u use the kit to take ur time, if u rush it it will make it worse.

Mazdaspeed doesnt make the CAI any more. AEM manufactured it for them anyway so you can go that route if you are looking for something similar. Congrats though on the ride, have fun!
