New tattoo

Hi everyone not CX 7 related but was psyched since I got a new tattoo in honor of my son Zack who is now almost 8 and has Autism.....hence the puzzle piece dangling on my foot with his name on it(autism symbol).
Weird...I use to hate tattoo's but once I hit 40 that all changed....I am gonna be 42 by the way in one week. When I started watching Miami Ink on TLC it opened my eyes to the art and artists of tattoo's. I am a jewelry artist and my sister is an all around artist and I have really began to appreciate the work they do and so many tat's have great stories and meanings behind them.
So, I wanted to show the world the love I have for my son and what a unique individual he is. This is what I came up with and the artist just made it better! Hope you like it...and I understand those of you who don't care for tattoo's...I understand both feelings about them....I have been there on both sides!! Zack wrote his name for that tattoo and we transferred it on the puzzle piece....makes it that much more special to me!! Thanks for looking!!

Never liked tattoo's and still don't but I can learn to appreciate them when they have meaning behind them such as yours. Anyways looks good and you should ask to have your thread moved into the off-topic section.

Nicely done. :) I love when there's meaning behind the tattoo...not just something done in a drunken stupor as some folks get!

I'm going to allow this thread to stay here for now. Alot of the CX-7 forum members only converse with the people in this section of the forum. This is probably why cruzdreamer posted it here. So unless Antoine wants me to move it I'll leave it here.

This is the CX-7 Lounge + Welcome area which means it's a sort of OT for the CX-7 members...So this thread is in the right place...As for the tat...I think it's really cool that Wendy got one which has a lot of meaning to her...and I've seen Miami Ink :D

I love it! I have one on my shoulder, something I drew. My next one will probably be on my foot. I'm not sure though because sometimes I wear fancy shoes to work and they frown upon tattoos.

Love your tats Wendy...and I love the longer hair as well. ROCK ON

Looks like pretty quality work as well...very nice color work (thumb) ...but on the foot, be prepared to do some constant touch ups of that vivid coloring...

Thanks for the replies everyone. Good and bad are welcome and to be expected! Like I said for many years I hated tattoo's....strange how we change along the way. The love for my son overwhelms me and he's so amazing and special that I felt I wanted to honor him in some way and this was it. You only see it in the summer when I wear my sandals....all winter it's hidden..soo... I gotta say it hurt on the top of my foot and still is tender today.....well worth it though. Never had a color tattoo and on the foot I am sure I will need the color touch ups often...the artist said he'd do them all for free. And to clarify, as evilmonkeymsp stated...my son wrote his name on paper and we traced it for that tatoo...so it's his writing on the puzzle piece....means a lot to me. Again, thanks all for your comments!! I thought this was the right area to put this thread...thanks.

I am a bit late on this but nice tattoo! I love the colors and it was so sweet that Zach wrote his own name! BTW, you look great for 42! rrrrowww! Hot mama!! ;)

Yeah! that's what I say! What is an AGE supposed to feel like? I say if you don't "know" that you are better off! :) I don't follow society's expectations very well either...I race, work on cars and am 31 just now having my second kiddo. My first is only 1 yr old. It's amazing how people think I am crazy for "waiting so long". heh

Oh, and the Electric Blue goes with my Sapphire Blue MX-5...that's my autocrosser and the CX-7 is my grocery getter. (sssh)

Way cool....love the MX 5. I recently got an 02 Mustang convertible for my summer fun car...nothing drives like a Mazda though....Mustang just drives "ok". One kid for me....I had him at 34....so talk about a little late I guess. He has Autism so each day is a challenge but rewarding! He's so awesome, he's made me a better person and would not trade him for anything! I design and make my own jewelry and enjoy cars...can't work on them but do fiddle with after market stuff...as husband says..."I pimp my rides!" I'd do more but he would not be too happy. I do get 3 car magazines. Hey, enjoy motherhood...kids are way cool if you love them like crazy, allow them to be creative and explore and not expect them to act like little adults!!! Rock on!

I used to have 2 mustangs and aside from the aggravation at keeping them running well, I opted for an MX-5 over the two of them because of the FEEL. I love small roadsters now.

That's great that you are the kind of parent we need more of! I stress to my sister who is about to embark upon the baby journey how important it is to know the early signs of Autism. They say if caught early enough it is very possible to help curb it's grip on the neurological development of toddlers and even possibly save the child from being a special needs student in school. We can only have hope, knowledge, and pray for the best for our kids.

Well you should work on them! Start small with changing oil and small maintenance. Then you can move up to motor rebuilding which we are embarking upon with the MX-5 in a few weeks. Well this is more of a motor droop in. A trusted race shop is building his motor. :)

That's right! They are little people who need to express their individuality. I was allowed to within reason (i.e. no colored hair or staying out till the wee hors of the morn). I want to make sure our kids get to do after school activities that will keep them busy and healthy. :)
