Altright, so i have been pretty much against the ipod in the car, mostly because i am saving up for a carputer and i have no use for it.
Enter yesterday, i got a free ipod nano, and of course i need to hook it up to my car.
yes i searched here and in the "other" forum and found a few decent solutions, BadgerBiker has a great write up with the monster cable but the steering controls dont work. Other solution includes a few simple components PIE, and such. In the "other" forum there is evena vendor selling a complete kit very well priced, that i may even get if it wasnt back ordered.
Ok having this said, i found a NEW way to hook it up to the car and i think it maybe a winner.
Bluetooth transmitter/receiver. The BT receiver hooks up to the stereo through RCAs and the ipod hooks up to the BT transmitter through the line out.
It seems like a great solution, you could do a lot, like play songs form your BT enabled PC, or BT enabled phone, also maybe user stereo as speaker phone for your BT phone. These are speculations, but it could work.
A big thing for me is being able to use the steering wheel controls though. Dont know yet if thats possible.
Has anyone seen this solution before? I just saw it at best buy yesterday and forgot thre name, i am in the process of seraching it.
