New rim advice!

I'm looking for new rims/tires right now. Any suggestions?? 2002 Silver Protege5 Stock.
What I am currently interested in :

are these the 2nd gen MS3 rims??

Looking for something I can put on without making any adjustments to the car itself. (Might lower it just a little bit in the future)

Those are not the 2nd generation MS3 rims. IIRC, those are one of the variations from the MX-5 Miata (only certain trims). These are the ones you're thinking of and they're 18":

IMO, I think 17" rims look better on a P5. If you can find some MSP Racing Harts, that would be nice, but they're becoming more rare and rare.

The Miata rims that came on most of the models are this type...(different from the one you linked to):

+1 on Racing Harts.... that's what I have for summer and they fit well without any rubbing/etc... Lowered 1.4" in the front, and 1.2" in the rear.

I think 18s are the way to go nowadays, the rims in the link you posted were never sold here in the US but speed3 wheels are plentiful and very very cheap.

I was going to put some 18's on mine, is there any complications doing this (scrubbing and so on) or do they just fit and ride like the standard 16's.

The newer/larger rims kind of look out of place to me on the older protegs... like stucco on a Victorian house.

I like the look of 18"s on them but from what I have found the don't fit well especially if your lowered. I think the RX8 wheels look great on the P5.

the rims you posted are off about an 06 mx5. they are 17 x 7 and kinda hard to find.they are called a split y. they fit a p5 no rubbing with 215/45 and pro kit and will match your paint perfect too

I personally think racing hearts look nice on a p5. I like the lighter finish they had, but there is a darker one too if im not mistaken

But if you want 18s instead of 17s I think the 1st gen ms3 rims look the best
