really cheap off craigslist... the tires are shot tho, we're hoping to score some cheap used tires to fit 'em soon...

as far as if it will be at the next auto-x... if we get tires...

maybe.

so far it seems every aftermarket spring for the 7 is on backorder right now...

racingbeat was supposed to get some in last week, but hasn't yet...

we even tried to do a buy it now on ebay for some tanabe's... and the guy listing the nice springs had them on backorder when he listed them.... Grrr...
 
Check the spark plugs and you might have to replace the pistons if they aren't working and then slap some headers on that beast!

the only pistons in the car are the ones in the brake calipers :p

but she's running fine... gonna get the suspension in order before doing any major power mods... things already a lot more peppy than the miata i'm used to ehe
 
well, we found some tanabe springs... supposedly should have them by monday...

still need tires tho...

verdict looks like no...

tires are the achilles heel. we've got some on the way... but wont have them till late next week... and won't have time to get them mounted...

might still happen... but its doubtful.

Most likely I'll be trying to grab more CSP points in my MX5 :)
 
hmm i was wondering that too...or are the bolt patterns different or yeah offsets or what nots? if not then its all good there's always the event after next weeks... hopefully we'll know if the event is for sure!! for the 23rd... at nellis... we'll see!! looks like the car is coming along great tho!

no... when we picked up the 7, we saw it was a 4-lug bolt pattern, and just assumed it would be 4x100... but its actually 4x114.3

and, apparently finding cheap used 4x114 wheels is difficult... the only ones we found in decent enough condition are 17"s... so my 15" mx-5 tires won't transfer over, ehe... we found some used azenis that still have plenty of rubber on them for auto-x, but they wont be in our possession until sometime this coming week at earliest.

while we know that the ideal performance wheel size comes in at a 15x7, we picked up the 17's and used tires a LOT cheaper than a set of nice wheels or tires alone... we wanna get this thing up and running and start learning it w/out spending too much upfront... wanna make sure nothing blows up the first time we run it hard before starting to spend any serious cash on go fast parts :)
