ok so I'm a wussy and I'm considering just paying someone to do this install IF it wouldn't be too expensive. what is reasonable for this job?

Due to the time needed, it would be a little on the expensive side to pay someone to do. It took CorkSport 4 hours to do it start to finish..... So whatever a shop would charge hourly for like 4-6 hours of work. Figure like $35-85 an hour labor charges.

That is usually the best way to get stuff done... Few people and some brews. :thumbs-up:

spent about 8 hours today on exhaust, downpipe, and SRI install.

a little frustrated at the bending required on the exhaust hangars to get it to fit right, especially since it means the metal hangars go through the rubber grommets at a 35 degree angle or so instead of horizontal.

i have no clue how to get the s-pipe off without removing the turbo as some people claim to have done. I have no clue how you would go about getting at the bolt that is in the middle under the top of the S. As it is right now I have the stock s-pipe to the CS j-pipe and power series exhaust. I guess I will have to take it to a shop and pay out the ass ot have the s-pipe done.

Also worth noting, we put the j-pipe on the stock s-pipe and tightened it up. then later wanted to loosen it for some reason and in doing so, the stud that I believe is supposed to be part of the s-pipe itself (stock one now) for one of the 3 bolts, just broke loose and started rotating. So now I have my j pipe attached to the S by only 2 bolts, the 3rd is just sitting there and if you turn the nut at all it turns the stud with it. Not sure how that happened or how this will be fixable..

try to put 2 nuts on the stud and tighten them to each other then you can torque down the stud.

when I turn the existing nut, it turns very hard and the stud turns with it, also the opposite end of this is inaccessible as it is still in the stock S-pipe where it is supposed to be permanently fixed...

Pull the stud out then put 2 nuts on the opposite side. lock them together and then remove the nut from the other side. Make sure to clean the threads and use anti-seize after reinserting the stud. Anti-seize on exhaust connections, O2 sensors, nuts and bolts keeps the threads from rusting and locking up.

k, someone cleared it up for me in another thread that the studs are threaded on both ends and just screwed into the S-pipe. I was thinking they were welded in or something and that i was just ****** since it was spinning and i didnt get how you wanted me to put a nut on the top (didnt realize it was threaded). Now I understand what you are saying though.

At any rate its just CS J to stock S right now. I dont know if I am going to take it to a garage to have the CS S pipe done or give it another shot this weekend....hmmmm

I like the exhaust a lot more than I thought I would though. All the clips I heard of it had mad popping but I dont hear any on my car. I was planning on using the stock axleback but I like the sound and look of this one. If it had a high-flow cat it would be puuurfect ;)

Funny you should ask... I was going to post today saying more would be ready at the end of this week.

Hey Ben, if I buy 10 of those down pipe sets from you can I get a discount. You could call it a group buy. I might be able to get some other folks in on this too, I'm thinking 20 sets. Also do you ship to Washington or is the river too wide, maybe I should do Next-Day Air, how much is that?

Whatta ya think? Can you help me out.
Anyway, what ever you can do is cool. I know you can cut me a good deal. Seriously, I need some of those Down Pipes. I'm not playin' around here I have Canadian money and I'll spend it. Pleeeeeeeease help me out dude.
I don't know what i'll do if you say no, I might just freak out and go Al Qaida on yo' ass.
I'm sorry that was uncalled for. I just really need those pipes, man, You know what I'm sayin'. Hook a homie up dog!!

My mom is callin' me for dinner so I gotta go.
We're goin' out for ice cream if I eat all my dinner so I'll check back tomorrow.
You know what Moms' is like if I stay up too late on the internet. Yelling about all the credit card charges from HotHonnies.com, like porn is a bad thing?!
