2002 Proteg 5
Hey guys,
Picked up my 2002 Black Proteg 5 yesterday night. Awesome car, I love the handling and can't stop driving!! The car is dropped 1.3'' on H&R springs and KYB struts.

Welcome!
I'm a owner of 1 year and i wanted to say this: You'll enjoy the new ride immensely! Just a word of warning.....stay away from the mod threads....they're addictive!:D

Welcome to the forums and P5 ownership! How's the ride on that suspension setup?

Looks like your "Protege5" trunk emblem was shaved?

I love the suspension, not too bouncy and nice and stiff in the twisties. As for the "Proteg 5" emblem, yes it was shaved and I will be shaving off the "Mazda" once the nice weather comes around.

welcome :) you need a stubby antenna :D

I'll probably be getting the shark fin antenna sooner or later. Either that or the CX-7 one.

Welcome, I'm an owner of 1 over a year now as well. These cars are awesome lemme tell ya. Mind you don't try too hard to take anyone off the line as we are better at cornering than straight out speed. If your car is manual then your transmission might take a little bit to get used to as its set up quite a bit different than most other transmissions. Its made to take advantage of the low horsepower the P5s are equipped with; but when it counts the car comes through everytime! (or it has for me anyhow) :)

Welcome aboard....and it is virtually impossible to stay away from 'mod threads'....they are everywhere!! hahaha

i'm basically counting the days until i can say i actually own my P5... my parents are dragging their feet though, it's aggrivating

I looked for a car for over 3 months. The deal between my parents and I was that I pay half and they cover the other half. Each car I went to see had something wrong with it (too costly for insurance, A/C not working, rust everywhere...you name it). Yes, it is VERY aggrivating shopping for a used car, but trust me...it's worth it in the end.

oh, well it's a little different for me... my parents bought a 2002.5 P5 new and are now replacing it... my car got stolen about 2 months ago and my insurance gave me a check... i gave the check to my parents to buy a new car and they were going to give me the P5... they've had the check for a month now and i still don't have a car... i paid for a car i can't even drive... tomorrow i'm probably going to have to take the bus to work and i don't even know which bus to take
