sure im trying to raise the dead here but has there been any more feedback on these shocks? are people having good luck with the koni sports on lowered cars? i just had both my rear shocks go bad at 43k on the car maybe 35k with the eibach pro kit and im looking for a good replacement.

To adjust the shocks do you have to take them off or can they be adjusted in place?
Current online shopping i find the koni sports for $570 and the bilstein b8 sports for $599. bilstein says the b8 sports are specifically for lowered cars though and koni states their sports will work better than the FSD's on lowered cars but not specifically intended for. is that correct?

Check out AutoAnything.com (that's where I got my fronts, rears came from TR because AutoAnything didn't have them in stock). When I got mine they had a 20% off coupon for new customers, and while I can't find that right now, I didn't find a 12% off coupon that works: EAP129WS (expires 4-13-12).
But with the coupon it comes to $538.38 shipped (free shipping).
You are correct FSD's are not designed for lowered cars and the Sports (yellows) will work much better. On the sports damping is internally adjustable on the rears (meaning you have to compress the shock fully and spin the rod to adjust the damping level, this can only be done with them off the car) and externally adjustable on the fronts (meaning it can be adjusted with a knob on the top of the shock).
I personally haven't adjusted mine since I installed them.

Thanks for the info Will. from what ive been reading here most people keep the rears almost all the way soft and the fronts pretty close as well but dial them up for autox if they need. as a daily driver with some crappy paved roads id keep them set to soft myself.
Autoanything is slightly more expensive but they now have 15% (welcome15) off for new customers (cookie based expires 24hrs after first visit to the website) which would make the koni's $520 shipped, sale excludes the bilsteins.

I don't autocross or track the MS3 so I don't need to worry about adjusting anything 
If I did though I'd probably go with a full coilover setup because you can get ones that are externally adjustable (if you even want adjustability). Plus you'd also have the ability to set your ride height. And really when you look at it BC's aren't that much more expensive than Konis + Springs.

i realize now how shot my original shocks/struts were. i havent even had the koni's on a week but they feel good, little soft on the bumps feels like a little floating. im thinking i should go one setting off soft.
