New motor mounts.

It's time for a new clutch, so I thought I'd throw in some mounts while I was at it.

Question: What are some good brands for motor/transmission mounts?

I've already got an AWR front, and I'm planning on getting another for the rear, but for the passenger and driver mounts, what should I get? Should I go cheap with OES or MTC from partstrain? Or should I save up some cash and go AWR for all four? Or is there another brand that people have had better luck with?

This is not a autocross car, or any type of racing car. I'm a Mazda lover that enjoys a good Zoom, zoom! That being said, I'm not looking for super performance, just something that will feel good and last.

EDIT: I almost forgot, there are also those AWR mount inserts. Would they be a good alternative?

go with all four AWR solid mounts or just settle for the inserts for the driver and passenger mounts

You might want to think twice about getting an AWR rear mount. If your car is a daily driver then the vibration and noise will drive you insane (think several orders of magnitude worse than just that front AWR mount). I'd recommend sticking with an OEM-style rear mount (rockauto has them for ~$30). If that's too soft for you, you can fill the mount with RTV which should still be less harsh than the AWR mount.

For the side mounts, don't waste your money on after-market mounts, get OEM-style ones too. If they're too soft, get some inserts (there should be some AWR ones in the FS section). Even with the inserts, I found the vibrations intolerable but at least I was able to easily remove them when I got tired of them.

Of course the type of mounts you can live with depends on your tolerance for noise. A lot people are able to cope with it but I'm not one of them. Admittedly, the inserts were fun for the couple months I had them in; the engine felt like it was bolted to the chasis, shifting felt better, throttle response was better, and I sorta liked being able to hear the engine more in the cabin. However, after school started and the car was a daily driver again, the noise started to piss me off. After getting off the train at midnight and being half-asleep, the last thing I wanted to hear was loud engine noise and other vibrations.

This reply is kind of a downer, but it's how I really feel. If you're not as crazy as I, go with Spiced MSP's suggestion. The car will be a lot of fun to drive, but you'll hate it in traffic :)
