Hi... I've always been a honda guy for the past 9+yrs. And work fairly well with hondas. I have a EF with b18c1 converted obd1, hasport mounts with their new hydro conversion kit, apexi turbo kit, uberdata, ww kit, precision FMIC, tein ss & a few other goodies.

however my accord just got into an accident & it turns out their insurance company might be totalling out my car. So i found this MSP.....

Gunmetal... stock

Gunmetal

Orange

I went to test drive the orange one. It's clean inside & out. Drives well. Comes with 2 set of new tires (winter & summer OEM). They bought it from Morries Mazda with a 100k warentee wich was like $2,500 more. It has 43,00 miles & they want $15k.....

what do you think?

I still have tons of mazda questions.. it seems like i'm the newbie vs the OG on honda-tech.. hehe

welcome to our humble forums, hope you get your questions answered...

well, 15K for a spicy orange with that kind of miles is still pretty steep. I bought my silver MSP with 14K miles and the extended warrantee for $14,000, and that was a year and a half ago...

I suppose it really depends on your area, but I know a lot of private sellers on the forums are asking much less than that...

Welcome aboard.

Make sure to check for Mod's on the MSP. You probably don't want to drop 15K on something that has been over boosted. One thing to check would be the vac lines running from the wastegate to the T. Make sure that line hasn't been changed at all.

welcome to the forums, definetely haggle on the price

Thanks for all the replys fells.

Yeah I was thinking if it was just the car without the 100k warnetee it should be right around 12,000 at most. But since he did get the warnentee ($2,500) and got 8 new tires... 15k is not bad....

but for some reason I feel weird paying that much. Most of my civics I got for good deals & under 5k. hum.....

anything else to look over on the car?

Is it at a dealership, or private owner?

it's private owner in Mounds, MN.
He bought the car with his dad about 10months ago for 19k out the door (with 100,000 miles warnetee, title, reg, tabs & 8 new tires) when it had 31,000 miles.

So $15k would simply just taking over the payments..

ummm... well maybe if u feel compfortable with it have one of the guys from here go check it out... lol u may have to bribe them with a beer or two just to check for the usual suspects... and if u end up buying this car... boost is addicting and don't go over 10 psi even WITH supporting mods the stock boost is around 6.5 to 6 or 7 depending on ur car and turbo... you might still have fun with your honda tech forums i would keep them handy cuz this forums is not the fastest paced in the world (no slams or offence to you guys and myself) but realize that you are getting a machine that will out *can't spell* slalom many cars and will go in and out of corners faster than most for that matter... STOCK! It is a handling beast and a blast to drive. I don't believe you will regret the buy... unless you are looking for raw power... then expect to drop a full forged engine down some ems, 3 inch turbo back exhaust a fmic boost controller and you have that beast!

Oh and again Welcome to MSProtege.com! :)

Interesting....wonder why he is selling so soon.

yeah honda-tech is way faster then this form.. hehe
But still nice to have access to a mazda online community.

Yeah I'm just looking for a sporty feel car for daily driving. power is not a major concern. I just like the nice lowend tq for daily driving. Also love how it handles.

for the MSP owners...
I know it gets cold in MN... heh
do you guys notice that your stock suspension would sqeek more?

I drove a MSP at the dealership yesterday night and it seems like every other turn I would hear noise from the suspension. Also hear like something is scraping the undercarrige or exhaust. But to my eyes the MSP has stock suspension.
.... The other MSP i;ve driven did not drive like that & much more smoother.

Also stock MSP shocks.... are they blue? like... tokico?

Yes, you will get some pretty decent suspension squeek from the MSP in the cold weather. There is a TSB to get the front and rear sway bar bushing replaced to help with the squeek and cluck you are hearing. But those eventually wear out too.

And..yes, the stock MSP shocks are tokico and blue.

I've been considering getting out of my car. I am just so f...ing poor. if you want to you can look at mine. 52K, so no warranty, I'd be looking for around $13K... I hate to post this, but I gotta. Probably never happen anyhow.

Well it turns out that Morries Mazda called me yesterday to inform me of the warentee details. It was a 5yr/100,000 mile warentee from the date of the 2nd owner. So it's basially good for another 4yrs & 57,000 miles bumber to bumper. I think i'm going to get this one. I'm starting to like the color orange also...

works great... had to drill a tiny bit out of the bolt shrouding (or what ever you want to call it) cuz i think either the U frame or the knuckle is bent most likely the u frame but my mechanic said by like 1/8th of inches and more than likely even him (a race car drive) would feel no difference! so it is safe and fine... and Ryan those snows are working BEAUTIFULY thank you again and a great deal too!

No Prob...those tires rock.

Yeah... not bad... orange is a good lookin color... I have the black 03.... I got her about 2 months ago private seller for 14k... they were askin 15 but i talked em down a bit... they had the extended 100k warranty from Morrie's too... mine only has 30k miles though... otherwise, that is definately a good deal! Enjoy it! I sure am! :)

I also have that extendend warranty to 100,000 miles.. I bought my from morries mazda in wi. for 13,000. with 6k on it, its sleeping in the garage right now with a warm blanket on her(car cover) with 25,000 on it now. I didnt want to drive it in the winter.. so I got a differant car 94 sundance
