Hey guys, I got a few questions about the MS6. I am looking to buy one, once i get back from Iraq (2 more weeks)(jersey national guard).

1. I noticed trolling the threads that quite a few of you have engine lights, is there a specific vin sequence I should look out for that commonly have problems or is it completely hit or miss?

2. How reliable is the turbo and the engine, is the engine capable of handling a turbo upgrade or are problems known to arise from it?

3. New to awd (as a personal car), my cars have been either FWD(SVT Focus, Hyundai Tiburon) or RWD (87 Iroc-Z, 89 5.0, 94 240sx) I have driven subaru and audis and liked there awd system, is it similar or does it take some getting used to?

Thanks for all replies help would be appreciated, BTW i noticed quite a few of you are from nj, I am definitely looking forward some state drive arounds and meets and stuff.

army, I hope you have some luck when you do get home and find yourself a nice one. Let me see if I can answer a few of these...

1) I think most CELs are due to mods that don't necessarily agree with the car's computer. Usually they're pretty minor, and I don't know of any popping up on stock cars, or on any specific group (VIN, year, or otherwise) more or less than others.

2) The stock seems to be quite reliable if maintained properly. I've only had mine a year, but things are running smoothly, and there are many people who don't tinker and do the required maintenance who would say the same. Again, sometimes when modding there are risks associated, so if you are into that, you just have to do things carefully and properly and you should be fine.

3) I'm used to FWD cars mostly, and during most driving I don't really notice anything. The times I do notice are in the winter in the snow/ice, at the track when launching (delicately ;) ), and maybe if you're really pushing it in the rain or around an on ramp or something. Honestly most of the time you wouldn't notice if you drive pretty regularly.

Thank you for serving.

2-The thing to remember is that the production numbers of this car are VERY low. (10,000) Therefore, things that may be typical problems are best addressed through community fourms (like here) to share and discuss to better pinpoint what to do about it.

3-Just what OJ said...and in snowy/icy conditions it is AWESOME!

Cheers.

Hey welcome back when you actually read this... im guess you're on your ways out now.. as for myself.. getting my two week break here soon enough and will be doing a bunch of install.

I think you will enjoy this car a whole lot. Looking at your vehicles owned, I've owned 3 of those prior myself. You will not be disappointed.
