New member with some car problems

Good day, well to start off I own a 2001 Mazda Protege es 2.0 (no mods). I have recently had some problem with my car. The other week I almost ran my car dry, I made it to the gas station no probs, but now i have an irregular idle and she wants to stall when i come to a complete stop or push the clutch in. Now i have done a little bit of research here and it appears to be the EGR, but im not to sure if it could be that or if there is something else that it might be. Any help would greatly appreciated. thanks

if its the EGR, eventually, the CEL will come on. then, you can pull the code and find out.

The CEL is on but i haven't had the cash to take it into the garage to have it read, so i dont know what it could be.

autozone, or some other car parts stores will read it for free if you ask.

well i cleaned my EGR vavle and it ran fine for about 2 days and then it started to stutter again and my CEL came back on is that normal??

The egr claning is a hit or miss...didn't do a thing for me. Get the code read...it could be so many different things maf, coils, 02 sensor, cats.
