Been reading all your posts with great interest about the all new Mazda 3.It really looks fantastic in all the photo's and videos I have seen but it has not gone on sale yet in the UK but is due for sale on January 4th 2014 so have not seen one in the flesh so to speak. I am going to one of the launches shortly and will be having a test drive in one hopefully. Very interesting how the specification with your models differ quite a lot to the UK models specifications. The largest petrol one is 2.0 L engine with 165ps, we also have a 2.2 L diesel engine with 150ps. In the UK we have gone very environment friendly.

Welcome! I'll be interested in seeing the differences in the 2.0L engines because ours is rated at 155hp compared to yours at 165hp.

Ours in US have compression ratio of 13:1. Yours in UK probably are 14:1. Not sure why.
Hence, the increase in torque and hp. Besides, ps is slightly higher than hp.
(ps/1.01387=hp (SAE))(165ps = 162.7hp)

I would love to test drive a diesel version, but it is not for sale in US until April/2014 due to emission test delay.
