2006 Mazdaspeed 6 Grand touring
HEY! ok I FINALLY BOUGHT MY 2006 Mazdaspeed 6 2006
Black with Black/white leather interior with 30,000km. In Vancouver shipping it to Calgary.

Question tho. The dealer offered me a package of 4 things
Are these things worth it.
1.Undercoating spray.
2. Clear coat protection on the paint of the whole car.
3. Anti-rusting.
4. Interior protection for leather and carpet.

If i buy all 4 its 800$. for 3 its $600.

are these things really worth it????

Calgary does not use salt in the winter but they do use gravel.

thanks guys im so excited i have been waiting for 2 years to get this Excat car. lol

1. No...
2. Yes
3. Sounds attractive, but I'm really not too sure
4. No....

I'm sure I'll see you around!!

The undercoating spray and the rust proofing should be the same product...

The clear coat protection or the interior protection isnt worth it. You can by better products online for a fraction of the price.

The clearcoat protection is just a sealant that lasts at the most 6months depending on conditions. But they will probably tell you it lasts for years, it doesnt. There isnt a miracle product that lasts that long. Check out the detailing subforum for some info on waxes and sealants, and more in depth information at autopia.org and detailingbliss.com

Same with the interior. You can buy your own interior care products for a fraction of the cost that do better than what they offer at the dealership.

edit: to clarify there is already a clearcoat on the paint, what they are trying to sell you is a sealant that they will apply that they probably said will last for a couple years, saying you dont have to wax ever again. Dont buy into it, its not true.

Ok sounds good just making sure
so my verdict i rpolly wont buy anything.
i just bought a 5 year bumper to bumper warranty for $2,300.
good till 2014.
and if i dotn use the warranty ever they give me 3 choices get another warranty again for free, or $2,000 worth of mazda accessories or $1,000 cash back, IF i never use the warranty, i think that pretty good on a kinda car like this.

I ll just buy some protective stuff ont he net for 50 bucks and it will do the same.

other wise i bought the car for $23,300, i was gonna buy states but they offered a really good deal.

sounds good man, ill check it out, I have to wait like 2 weeks for them to ship it to me.

It better be in danm Great condition. lol
First mods are CIA and a boost controller.

Just curious whats the point of buying an extended warranty if u plan on modding the car? Don't take that the wrong way or anything...just personally i dont have time to pull parts off my car if something goes wrong so I can take it to the dealership so IDC about my warranty too much anymore, and this is the last year my ms6 will see snow, beaters ftw!

Anywho congrats on the car, wish I could have found a black one locally when I bought my VR.

Congrats on the new car! I looked at a black with the 2-tone and it was one of the ones I considered buying before I found my WWP.

For sealant, I've read good stuff about Ultima Paint Guard Plus. I'll probably give it a try this spring when I do a proper detailing. And check your local forums for deals on rust proofing, the Toronto Mazda6 board had a deal with Krown, or Rust Check should be just about the same.

Thanks guys LOl thanks for inviting me to the forum again, I had my 2001 mazda protege, so this is a nice upgrade.

Well lol i wont modify much on it, I sait CAI cause the dealer will do it for me a nice one too.
My protege i put at least 6 or 7 grand into it and im tired now i just wanna enjoy my ride.
So the warranty im happy with, and yeah i had to buy it in Vancouver cause there were none for sale in Alberta that i wanted. and they will ship ti to Calgary for FREE, no charge on my part.

actually i type that in wrong sorry it has 45,000km which is 29 000 miles. so yeah still lost of warranty up to 80,000 km but its also 3 years which will be 3 years in Feb 6 so it ends in 3 weeks lol.

and the rust im not to worried about calgary doesnt use salt.

he said the car has been Flashed. Does that also have to do with the fuel i put into the car, or should i still put in 93 or higher octane???
I will be using 94 octane.

flashed means he has the computer reprogrammed, most likely a dealership service update. i would always put the highest possible octane into your engine for optimum operation.

sounds good thanks man.

will 10% ehtenoal in the fuel effect my turbo or engine?

Gotta love husky/mohawk gas. Too bad theres only 1 station here in Edmonton that sells the 94 and the way on the south side and I live on the north :(

danm! that sucks we have a few here. one right by my place.
There is also one here by the porshe dealer on Macloed trail, that has 96 octane.

sweet! I cant wait to drive this sucker in the Winter.
Ill post some pictures when it comes to my place on the truck

i used to do this for a living its a waste of money the carpet protection is worth it the rest i wouldnt blow your money on it clear coat protection = cheap wax that comes off in a few weeks and the rustproofing is a waste cars are already e coated at the factory and iifc mazda has a lifetime waranty on rust
