New Mazdaspeed 6 GT owner in CT

Hey everyone,

I just stumbled upon this website today, and thought I would join. I just picked up a 2006 Velocity Red Mica Speed6 last week with 54K miles on it. Its got everything in it except for the navigation. I haven't done anything with it yet, but I plan on adding an Intake, catback exhaust, new HPFP internals, boost guage and maybe a few other things. I love the cars looks, and how it doesn't look very fast, but you lay into it and it takes off. I look forward to reading through the threads and increasing my knowledge here, and hopefully contributing some myself.

holy s***! velocity red mica speed6s are popping up everywhere! and mazda specifically designed this car to be an 'adult' car. i can't remember where i read it, but they said they steered clear of the hood scoop, huge ass wing, and other things you would find on an evo or sti on purpose to make it feel "less like a toy". now don't get me wrong, the evo and sti aren't toys and would blow us out of the water, but i do prefer the looks of our cars to an evo or sti unless they're de-winged and subtle. i still wish we had a stock hood scoop though, i don't know why mazda went for this under-the-hood-vent bulls*** (eyeballs)

oh and the car IS pretty quick, but our massive curbweight is what's killing us in the end :/
