New Mazda Owner - zoom zoom is right

Hi all,
I just picked up a 2009 Mazda3 i a few days ago and I have to say that those zoom zoom ads aren't lying. I've got the base 2.0, but with a stick shift and that wonderful steering it's a damn fun car. I'm coming from a stock '95 Jetta and, before that, a stock '91 Protege.
Thinking about mods for my 2.0, CAI first. How does that affect gas mileage? Can I put on a CAI and just drive the car normally to get the same, or at least similar gas mileage?

Id recommend the CAI! I have one on my 07 3 hatch. Better mid range, a little loss of low end torque, and better gas MPG about 2-4 for me.

Id also recommend one, I also have an 07 3 Hatch, when I just had the CAI on there if you ease on it to about 3-4000 RPM then crunch it, you'll feel the power increase, as for me for a tank of gas, mixing city, highway, and fun driving I average 25-26 MPG. Im also running a Cat-Back(stash)
