Actually, 3 full size seats plus 1 dog seat (behind the driver seat and folded flat in the auto show), thus the 3+1 design mentioned in the press release. The front passenger seat is 6 inches ahead of the driver seat to create more leg room.

Interesting concept. They should definetly have, at least, an option to get a higher hp engine. The windshield and seats def. look like they'd cause problems. Guess this is a way to keep the price down??

I don't see too much room in Mazda's lineup for another sports car like that, unless it's going to be a fast one. (ie RX-7)

I do...Something bare bones and not goofy like the scions or other all flash and no substance econo rides on the market...The MX-5 isn't really a "youth" oriented sportscar and the RX-7 is even less so...What options are there for those with the cash for a mazda3 but the desire for a stylish...functional (read: more storage space than a mx-5)...fun to drive...down to basics sports car?

Interesting, can see more of the Rx8 style, but there is a small hint of Mx-5.

It is cute, but neat to see what style they take from this in future cars designs.
