(freak).....but yeah, I love my 5! I hope to have Linus for many years to come!

Proud Mazda 5 owner

Ok, so I was Christmas shopping online today, and I asked Linus what he wanted for Christmas, Linus gave me a HUGE smile and took out his Christmas wish list, which he had already made in ADVANCE! Lol!!

So, this is what Linus wants for Christmas...

1) Heads Up Display System
2) Backup Camera
3) indoor Temp Gage (digital)
4) Wideview Rear mirror
5) Headrest DVD Monitors on BOTH Headrests)
6) Navigation System (TOMTOM)
7) Chrome lettering that spells out his name on his doors

(boom06)........well, I told Linus if he is extra good, he may get EVERYTHING on his list. Linus just smiled big, well he doesn't know it, but I got him the mirror he wanted! Heeheehee!, and I'm planning on getting Linus the rest of the toys he has on his list!!, HEEHEEHEE!!, yeah, I'm going to spoil Linus! :D

I have both the CX-5 and 5 and find the suspension a little less choppy on the 5. My wife has named the CX-5 (since she drives it most) but I refuse to name my car :)

Mind me asking, and I'm sure you have your reasons. But what's the benefit of an HUD in the MZ5? And chrome letters spelling out LINUS just sounds gaudy, lol.

Pardon my bluntness and welcome to the board! I use my naturally gifted ability to sense the cabin temperature (beer)

EDIT: Giggity, 69 posts.

LINUS, Interesting name. Is that more along the lines of Linux or Cleetus? :D

Welcome abroad. Your seem to have a light hearted/funny approach to Linus, which is good. Btw, spelling out the name on the doorS! sounds like a bit much, unless you mean the hatch door -that's ok. Let us know what you end up doing and share along the way.

Too firm, no I mean install MS3 or equivalent sway bars for front and rear, and put a nice set of coil overs on it, and see how well it handles then. A nice improvement over stock.

Welcome aboard, Joey!

DVD headrest sounds cool, but if I were a kiddo I'd rather a tablet (or two) because it's more versatile. It can be used for videos, games, web (assuming data connection is feasible) and they have all kind of headrest mounting system for tablet.

Be sure to compare TomTom with Garmin, I found the later to be more reliable, better customer service and easier to use.

Have a fun and safe drive with Linus!

Hey all!,

I have a very childlike personality and nature, I've always have been this fun natured, guess it's due to my religious beliefs, I'm a Christian. :)..I had about 10 surgeries in my lifetime because of my birth defect. I am handicapped, so Linus has hand controls installed on him so I can drive him.

I've had 4 cars prior to Linus, and all of had names.

'83 Honda Prelude = Speedy
'90 Honda CRX. = Zippy
'92 Toyota Corolla. = Sparky
'06 Chevy HHR. = Wheelie

And now.... '13 Mazda 5 Touring = Linus (named after my fav. Peanuts character LINUS VAN PELT (light blue blanket)

I'm also a teddy bear collector, again due to my childlike nature, I'm grateful for the way I Am. :)

Joey,

Now that you have a Linus, are you planning to get a Snoopy? Whenever you have time please pics. of Linus and the hand controls you mentioned.

Hey there Aha!,

I most certainly will take pics of Linus with his new apparatus and toys.!, I may not do it in the next 2 days simply because here in New Orleans, there is a nasty cold front and it's around 47 degrees out and will stay this way for 2 days...brrrrrrr!!, :/... But I'll keep ya'll posted!...oh, and Linus won't have a snoopy, but I just might get him a light blue little blankie...to keep his name true to the cartoon character that his name is based on! :D

(cryhard) Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a little black friday shopping - I saw dual screen DVD from Walmart for $49 and it's online. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any blue blanket :p

As a matter of fact, I DID do some shopping for my cute little Linus yesterday! (yippy)

I ordered 2 "JESUS LOVES YOU" window stickers, as well as 2 vinyl lettering sets that spell Linus's name out, I also got Linus a little accessory called a HANDYBAR. It's a little handle like device that you stick on your car's striker, and it serves as a grip so you can get in and out of your car easier. It's handy for handicapped people like me.

Next up, I'm going to get Linus an indoor digital temp. Gauge.then a Heads Up display device, (Linus REALLY wants that!, he has been clapping his doors with excitement) :D

I'm getting the headrest monitors for Linus a little later..so basically, I gave Linus some of his Christmas presents early to him.......WAAHAAHAAHAAHAA!!!!!!!! =D

(sad1)!!!!!!!....UUUGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!, I accidently made a paint chip on Linus's right side skirt!!, my wheelchair hit the lower portion above his front door and it made a chip!!..UUUGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!, I aM sorry Linus!!, I'm sorry!! :((...I ordered a paint chip repair kit for Linus and I will work on removing the chip as soon as it gets here to my home...

But......UUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! (omg)(omg)

I managed to get my handicap spinner knob from my old car, to put onto Linus, I saved $145 by doing this as opposed to buying a new spinner knob. :D

I will post pics of Linus soon, I had to create a photobucket account to post pics. :)

Welllll...I have an update on my wheelchair setup, and it's not good :(

I went to the place where they install the wheelchair storage box system on the roof of Linus. Turns out Linus's roof is short by 2 inches. Meaning there would be a 2 inch overhang that would possibly be a hazard for my head, if I were to get out and hit my head under the chair topper as I got out. So, no go on the chair topper,

That leaves me with plan B, buying a $3000 custom wheelchair so I can lift it in Linus with me inside and placing it on the passenger side floor...when I get that in place along with the hand controls, I'll be all set to spend some quality time with my little Linus and just have a good time :)

I'll keep you all informed :)

Can you offset the wheelchair box? Or put some kind of fairing underneath that will allow your head to hit a ramp or a pad instead of something hard? :)
