New Map Disk Coming Soon

I agree... Shaz.. Help us out man... Just put the disc in your DVD drive on your PC, copy the files onto your PC and RAR it or ZIP it...

I don't want to go off-topic... But do you think this disc will work on any factory Mazda vehicles, like the Speed6?

Probably not, since the CX-7 is a touchscreen and the Speed6 is not. However, if a new disc comes out for the Speed3, that's more likely to work.

How to make a copy of Navigation Disk

For anyone that is interested. I have successfully made a copy of the Navigation Disk (so yes it is possible).

I used this free program to create and image (ISO) of the disk:

http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download

Then I used Nero to burn a copy onto a Dual-Layer disk. The book-type was set to "DVD-Rom".

Anyway, I have the copy in my CX-7 and it works fine.

However, I don't have the latest one with updated maps (I have 2006 maps).

I posted this information in case anyone is interested in making a copy of the "GP9A66DZ0D" version.

If I get my hands on it, I will definitely upload it somewhere so that everyone can get it. The maps on mine are so old they don't even have the street I live on. That's not a huge deal--but the wrong directions that the Navigation gives based on old maps is not so funny!

Sea Wolfe, I am defiantly interested in a copy! I have been scouring the internet for a copy of the "D" version of the maps for 2 weeks now, with no luck at all. Please keep us posted, I'd be very happy to buy a copy!

A bit of caution

What y'all do is your own business, but you're dealing with copywrite material and there are a host of issues, red flags, raised, when making copies. Similar to what the movie and music industries gripe about.

In a public forum such as this, it's probably prudent to be a discreet.

Regards, Vince.

I think talking about how to do it is fine. Just asking for a copy or trying to buy/sell one is the part that you have to worry about.

I actually tried it in my Speed6 yesterday.

The disc i'm using right now is GP9A 66 DZ0 D
(map version 2007.1)

It took about 5 minute to update the system.

The menus were shifted around but it did work...the disc that came with my car was [map version 2005.1]

Can any of you guys tell me how did you eject the disk out of the DVD under the seat???

I can't figure this out(dunno)

Thanks,

Edwin

You have to go into the back seat and there is a metal plate screwed in front of the ejected slot and button so no one can accidently bump the eject button with their foot. Remove that and it's just like the CD player. Hit eject, disc pops out. Key must be in the ACC position if I recall correctly.

cool! I am still on very first one and believe me it is completely outdated for such a rapidly changing area like Chicago. But $300 for freaking DVD is beyond any imagination. So, ready to donate $25 :-)
