i agree, it would have created massive marketing hype...but it isn't ready and GM needs to mass market the car...and putting it on a TV show first would drive up the initial sale price but the sales wouldn't last the long run.

It would never be a Corvette either, because GM doesn't need their flagship tarnished by a TV show that could possibly fail.

Really, the Mustang is the only car out there that can ride the tide of a failed show, make sales if it is a successful show, and continue to sell after the hype is gone.

I bet when you see countless Mustangs destroyed due to this show,...you'll praise the Mustang as the perfect choice. After all, you wouldn't want countless Z06's getting jumped, would you? A mustang makes sense if you think of it like that.

I was a diehard Knight Rider fan myself. I even had the Stunt KITT, which was a neat spin-off of a mix between an electric slot car and Hotwheels' tracks.

I fondly recall watching KITT dissolve into the acid bath, and I cried.

One more vote for a vette. I can see why they picked a mustang though. If you jump a stang, the horsey will be able to land better.

If they are bringing back shows, how about The Greatest American Hero played by Richard Simmons. The curly hair works baby (laugh)

That mustang looks horrible! I think since they brought back the Camaro for Transformers, they should bring back the TA for Kitt.
I saw the most lame thing the other day though... this poor excuse for a car (pos dodge intrepid/avenger) with all kinds of stuff falling off, had the little red light that goes back and forth in the front. It made me burst out laughing and I figured the stuff falling off was him going into SPM.
