Looks pretty damn good. Would have to 'take it for a spin' before chunkin down the dough... even though it is pretty damn cheap. Which only reminds me of that old saying.

If the seller truly believes in the product, he should get some videos up that show it in action.

As for the GPS... it all depends on what external kit you get for it.

I tried looking around a bit, and there seems to be some mixed reviews on Eonon as a company. I haven't found any reviews of this exact product.

Not sure if just any external GPS would work. In the picture the connection to the GPS looks like an S-Video connection. Don't the stand-alone Garmin's use RCA inputs? No way I would pay $500 for a Garmin GVN anyway. How can a stupid little box cost so much, when you can buy a similarly functioning unit WITH a screen on it for $200-300?

I think it mostly has to do with supply & demand... along with mass production. Plus, the Garmins of the world know that the type of people who are going to buy a portable unit are vastly different than those who are going to buy just the box. ie. the latter are usually those who will spend whatever... to have the system of their dreams. So they know they can get away with it.

The garmin gvn53 nav I installed http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123730552 would hook up to the aux video input, along with the l/r aux audio inputs for the voice prompts. I see in the link they have an rgb connection for the nav. Kenwood has their own version of the gvn53 that has that input I believe. The gvn53 outputs the rgb signal, but you have to have a custom made cable to utilize it. A couple of guys have done this on one of the other mazda forums.

Does gvn53 works with touch screen?

I honestly dont know. You navigate the menus with an rf remote in my setup. The Magden gauge setup works with a touchscreen, but the screen connects to the M1 unit via a usb cable, so I'm guessing it wouldnt work. The screen would have to send a signal to the gvn53 to tell it you selected an option.

Not sure if it's new but the website in the original post has a video up of the unit in action.

No it says it's Optional:
External GPS box/Built-In GPS(OPTIONAL)

Check out the Q&A section...multiple times the seller says (in broken English) that the GPS is included. Also, it sounds like a rear view camera may be included as well... "to buy from us and receive a present that no one give "camera for car""

It sounds like they don't speak much english. And I'm not trying to knock them but... I just wouldn't feel comfortable in that transaction.

I've been drooling over the unit from Car Advanced for months now (pretty much since i got my Speed...The one on ebay, with its absurdly low price, is making my uncomfortable, though it is tempting. Anyone tried taken the plunge yet?

I'm kind of hoping for a several month update from djm3 on how his is working. I'm this |--| close to buying one or the other.

I will let everyone know by Monday ups tracking has mine ariving on Friday. I have the Bose and Sirius so we will see how it works. The unit is on sale now I paid $1085 with shipping.
