new in dash for the 3's

Nice write-up.

Theoretically you should be able to use iGuidance, since it is compatible with the windows OS, just like TomTom should theoretically work as well. Sometimes they require just a bit of tweeking, so yeah, it is still hard to know for sure whether it would work.

About the TV, I haven't heard of any that support ATSC at this point. If all else fails, use your government coupon and get a converter box for $0 to $10 and hook it up through the auxiliary input.

My Friend is trying that converter box hook up with his pioneer nav. To see if he can get Dtv to work on it.

Yep, in theory, that's correct. The problem with iGuidance vs. this system is that iGuidance is not designed to install itself onto an SD card. It wants to install the executable files onto the main memory of a device plugged into your PC, and just the map/POI/faves files onto the SD card.

I searched my PDA for the executable file for iGuidance, but I'll be damned if I can find it. I'm no computer-super-genius, but I do pretty well.

So I turned to iNav Corp for help, and they started by getting on my case for failing to register my v4.0 software, and told me that my 1 year of free tech support would have run out last August anyhow. But they also said that since I never called for tech support, they'd honor this one request as a courtesy- AFTER I register my software. So I did, and I am waiting for a response.

If I can get the installation issue sorted out & maybe meet Tony one more time to test it, then I will own one of these units once I have the cash.

***Thinking I am not going to try to make the video look nice- just going to cut out the parts that aren't informative & let 'er rip. I'll be working on it in the morning, but don't know how long it'll take me to get thru it all.

Good deal. I Just watched a video someone made of this same unit on the other board. He went through alot of the features, but it was kinda dark. Still waiting to see what you post up. I just about ready to buy! WOOOOO

Also he was able to run TomTom from his SD card looked pretty good too.

OK boys & girls... I got'r'dun... please forgive any editing goofs. It was tough to condense this down into 10 minute segments & delete most of the unimportant chatter, etc. Audio is what it is from a $200 camcorder, but not bad in most places.

If anyone has specific questions after watching, I'll do my best to answer them, or you can always e-mail Denise, or I can ask Tony if he has answers.

Part 1- Intro

Part 2- Intro (cont)

Part 3- Finean GPS

Part 4- Sygic GPS

Part 5- Route 66 GPS

Allrighty then... my work is done here. Hope this helps!

Yeah, Im sold. Good job Bill you should get a commission.(yippy)(yippy)

Now if we can just get enough folks to get the $900 price!!!!

Hehheh. Thanks, guys. Tony told me that Denise said she will honor the group buy at $900 for 10 units thru the end of April. Nothing says she wouldn't be open to considering it beyond that point, but she has stated it's a valid offer for at least that long.

As impressed as I was... Not having the trip computer's a bit of a deal-breaker for me. Maybe I could live without it... but for $1200+ I don't think I should have to. The other (DSS?) unit apparently retains this... but lacks the aesthetics of this unit. So I'm just gonna stick with the stock setup. An REQ + portable nav essentially give you everything this unit gives you (I could care less about watching dvds while I drive). If I hadn't yet bought these devices, however... I'd probably be more inclined to consider this.

This will likely be the one I order. It lacks the trip function BUT looks much better IMO. Not to mention you could route the USB connector to the glove box and run a USB-laptop HDD :)

Hey Bill would Tony or Denise like for one of us to start a GB thread?

I got an email saying they would do the 900 with 10 buys, but they didn't say how or where to sign up.

Thanks again.

cool!
I have emailed you directly about this unit so this is awesome news! definitely worth waiting, hopefully we can get 10 people.

Currently listed at $1050.00 on their site. Man if that thing would go down to $900 I would buy a rear view camera from them too.(nana)
