- 2002 Protege ES
Well, I'm glad I found this place. I just purchased a 2002 Protege ES; I've had it for about a month and I'm quite pleased so far.
Mods:
-Sprint Springs (I was shocked how well they ride and handle, but I need to post pics of the stance in the suspension area, the front looks too low).
-AWR rear swaybar and endlinks. The big one (21.5mm I think?)
-Weapon R intake. Crappy yellow foam filter and couplers replaced with quality filter and Hotshot couplers the day after I brought the car home.
-I believe the car has a short shifter but I don't know which one. The lever is shorter than stock and the throws are too. Does NOT feel the same as a friend's MSP.
-Loud ricey double melon-shooter muffler. Replaced with stock unit shortly after purchase.
That's it. Plans include a header and routine maintenance. This is my daily driver; I come to Mazda from a long line of Nissans (B13 SE-Rs specifically), and my toy is a heavily modified S13 240SX, to which I did all the work. I needed a newer daily after my third (yes, third) SE-R rolled over 200k miles, and decided to branch out a bit to some other brands when I started looking. I'm no stranger to turning a wrench and I look forward to playing with the ES.
I'll post pictures sometime soon, though I suspect you guys have seen a black '02 before...
